Josh Boone’s The New Mutants is finally coming to theaters in two weeks time, and Disney has now released a new featurette which spotlights the five troubled young heroes of the title.
The sneak peek features stars Blu Hunt, Maisie Williams, Charlie Heaton, Henry Zaga and Anya Taylor-Joy introducing their respective characters while we see some snippets of footage of Mirage, Wolfsbane, Cannonball, Sunspot and Magik in action.
Most of the shots have been taken from previously released trailers and TV spots, but there is some cool new stuff here – including a glimpse of Sam fully unleashing his powers and blasting around the courtyard. Still no sign of Rahne in werewolf form, but that’s most likely being saved for the movie.
Check out the featurette below along with a recently released IMAX poster and synopsis.

“In this terrifying, action-fueled film based on the MARVEL comic series, five young people who demonstrate special powers are brought to a secret institution to undergo treatments they are told will cure them of the dangers of their powers. Included are Danielle Moonstar aka Mirage (Blu Hunt), who creates illusions from other people’s fears; Rahne Sinclair (Maisie Williams), who transforms into the werewolf Wolfsbane; Sam Guthrie (Charlie Heaton), who, as Cannonball, can fly at jet speeds protected by a force field; Roberto da Costa aka Sunspot (Henry Zaga), who absorbs and channels solar power; and Illyana Rasputin aka Magik (Anya Taylor-Joy). The younger sister of Colossus, Magik becomes encased in armor at will and wields a soulsword that amplifies her multiple superhuman and psychic abilities.
Invited by Dr. Cecilia Reyes (Alice Braga) to share their stories about when their powers first manifested, the five “patients” come to understand that they are in a class of people called mutants, who have historically been marginalized and feared. As they relive their origin stories, their memories seem to turn into terrifying realities. Soon, they question what is real and what isn’t, and it becomes clear that the institution isn’t what it seems. Now the question is — why are they being held captive? And who is trying to destroy them? The tension and horror mount in this white-knuckle thrill ride directed by Josh Boone and co-written by Boone and Knate Lee.”

Bill and Ted Face the Music was originally scheduled be released in theaters and VOD on the same day this September 1, but it was recently announced that lovable metal-heads’ William “Bill” S. Preston Esq. (Alex Winter) and Theodore “Ted” Logan’s (Keanu Reeves) latest adventure has been moved up by one week, and will come our way on August 28 – the same day The New Mutants is expected to hit theaters.
Now, Orion Pictures has given us a first look at the music video for Weezer’s “Beginning Of The End (Wyld Stallyns Edit),” which will feature on the movie’s soundtrack. It’s not quite up there with Kiss’s tune for Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey, “God Gave Rock ‘N’ Roll To You,” but it’s pretty damn good!
The video also contains quite a bit of new footage from Face the Music, so be sure to check it out below along with the full tracklist and let us know what you think.
Bill & Ted Face The Music (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) track listing:
1. Big Black Delta – “Lost in Time”
2. Alec Wigdahl – “Big Red Balloon”
3. Weezer – “Beginning Of The End (Wyld Stallyns Edit)”
4. Cold War Kids – “Story Of Our Lives”
5. Mastodon – “Rufus Lives”
6. Big Black Delta – “Circuits Of Time”
7. POORSTACY – “Darkest Night”
8. Lamb Of God – “The Death Of Us”
9. FIDLAR – “Breaker”
10. Culture Wars – “Leave Me Alone”
11. Blame My Youth – “Right Where You Belong”
12. Wyld Stallyns (feat. Animals As Leaders, Christian Scott aTunde Adjuah) – “Face the Music”
13. Wyld Stallyns – “That Which Binds Us Through Time: The Chemical, Physical and Biological Nature of Love; an Exploration of The Meaning of Meaning, Part 1”
“Bill & Ted Face the Music will see the duo long past their days as time-traveling teenagers and now weighed down by middle age and the responsibilities of family. They’ve written thousands of tunes, but they have yet to write a good one, much less the greatest song ever written. With the fabric of time and space tearing around them, a visitor from the future warns our heroes that only their song can save life as we know it. Out of luck and fresh out of inspiration, Bill and Ted set out on a time travel adventure to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe as we know it. Together with the aid of their daughters, a new crop of historical figures, and some sympathetic music legends, they find much, much more than just a song.”

It’s an exciting time to be a fan of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, even if most of the Phase 4 slate has been delayed as a result of COVID-19. Moving forward, there’s clearly a lot to look forward to, though, and it’s particularly exciting to think about the team-ups we could end up seeing.
After all, there are a lot of new characters set to join this shared world, and while Avengers: Endgame assembled everyone, there are plenty of heroes who have yet to properly cross paths.
With that in mind, we’re now taking a deep dive into the team-ups we’re hoping to see during this next wave of movies (and slightly beyond). Each one of these has the potential to be something special, and there’s a strong chance they could end up happening in the not too distant future.
To find out which characters made the cut, all you guys need to do is click on the “Next” button below!

Take perhaps the most popular X-Men character and an icon like Spider-Man, throw them in a movie together, and you have all the makings of a must-see team-up in this new era for the MCU.
This isn’t just a random pairing though as these two have a great relationship in the comic books (it’s sort of a cross between father/son and older brother/annoying little brother), and bringing any one of their many adventures to the big screen would be extremely enjoyable to see play out.
This is unlikely to happen as soon as Spider-Man 3, but if Marvel Studios were to secretly cast Wolverine before then, just imagine him giving the wall-crawler a hand (or claw) against Kraven…

Loki is getting his own TV series on Disney+ next year, and speculation is running rampant that the Time Variance Authority agent he’s paired up with could actually end up being Kang the Conqueror.
Played by Owen Wilson, this would be a unique and unexpected origin story for the classic Avengers villain, but having Loki turn this mild-mannered TVA agent into one of the most fearsome foes Earth’s Mightiest Heroes have ever faced would, in all honesty, be a very “Loki” thing to do.
This would give Wilson the chance to show an entirely different side of himself, while also providing Kang with an exciting new origin story and an unexpected partner in the God of Mischief.

This would be amazing (pun intended) to see, and if Sony Pictures still plans on using Tom Holland’s Spider-Man in their own movies, there’s nothing to stop them moving forward with this one.
Whether it’s a live-action version of the Miles Morales from the Into the Spider-Verse franchise or an animated take on Holland’s Peter Parker, a Spider-Men event could be a hit in any format, and it would be no bad thing if these two were to combine forces in order to battle a villain like Venom.
At this point, the fact Miles still hasn’t made is live-action debut is borderline unacceptable, and Spider-Man 3 could very easily lay the groundwork following that Easter Egg in Spider-Man: Homecoming.

The Fantastic Four and X-Men are on their way to the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and while introducing them at this point will be no easy feat, it’s obviously going to happen in the near future.
Initially, Marvel Studios will no doubt want to restore faith in these characters by having them cross paths with some of their other MCU heroes, but looking beyond that, why not combine the worlds of these two teams for some sort of crossover event? There’s certainly precedent for it in the comics.
Whether it’s Magneto and Doctor Doom teaming up to take on the heroes or a misunderstanding which leads to them going to war with each other, there’s a huge amount of potential here.

This isn’t a team-up or crossover in the traditional sense, and is more of an event than anything. Captain Marvel obviously alluded to the Kree/Skrull War, but it feels like we haven’t seen the Kree/Skrull War…at least not yet! With any luck, though, that will end up changing in Phase 4.
Captain Marvel 2 seems like the most likely destination for these alien races to clash, and we’re sure Marvel Studios could find a way to throw the Secret Invasion storyline into the mix in some way.
Having Carol Danvers align herself with a number of her fellow heroes (those A-Force members from Avengers: Endgame, perhaps?) would make this even more special, and a “team-up” movie in a number of ways. Of course, there’s one specific pairing we’d love to see in this sequel…

Rumour has it that Ms. Marvel could be introduced in Captain Marvel 2, and that makes a lot of sense considering the fact a big part of the reason Kamala Khan becomes a hero is thanks to Carol Danvers.
The comic book Ms. Marvel is obviously an Inhuman, but if Marvel Studios is reluctant to revisit those characters so soon after that disastrous ABC TV series, then it wouldn’t exactly be difficult for her to get her powers thanks to Kree or Skrull tech, similar to what happened to Carol.
Regardless, if Captain Marvel needs someone to help her out, then who better than Ms. Marvel? This could nicely set the stage for the Disney+ TV series Marvel Studios is currently developing.

It goes without saying that Thor: Love and Thunder will see Chris Hemsworth’s God of Thunder team-up with Jane Foster’s Mighty Thor, but there’s another pairing we want to see there.
That would be Jane and Valkyrie, a badass pairing we can easily imagine tearing into battle together. We’re not sure where that leaves the original Thor, of course, but just imagine how cool a fight scene involving these two would be with Taika Waititi’s unique visuals and some killer music!
This is probably a given, in all honestly, but we’re keeping everything crossed that it happens.

Spider-Man’s name has come up many times throughout this feature, but if we could choose only one team-up for Tom Holland’s iconic Marvel Comics superhero, it would be this one.
In the very first issue of Amazing Spider-Man, Peter Parker tried unsuccessfully to join the Fantastic Four, but his bond with them would grow to be incredibly strong over the years. When the Human Torch (Spidey’s best friend) “died,” Spider-Man joined the team as their fourth member for quite some time and is considered part of the family by Reed, Sue, Ben and Johnny.
The prospect of Spider-Man and the Human Torch pulling pranks on The Thing much to the annoyance of Mr Fantastic and the Invisible Woman is, in many ways, more enticing that seeing the wall-crawler in the ranks of The Avengers, so here’s hoping this happens sooner rather than later.

Batman vs. Superman? Captain America vs. Iron Man? Those were great to see on the big screen, but could pale in comparison to an epic battle between The Avengers and the X-Men.
What leads to these two teams clashing in a movie would probably have to differ from the slightly underwhelming comic book series which saw them come to blows over the Phoenix’s arrival on Earth, but that wouldn’t be a bad place to start. Ultimately, in classic comic book fashion, it would be most satisfying for them to fight before having to join forces to tackle a larger threat.
After Dark Phoenix bombed, chances are the X-Men will be introduced alongside the Avengers…

Marvel has a long history of team-ups which started back when Stan Lee was writing many of their titles. Two heroes meet for the first time, they fight, and then work together. Of course, enough time has now passed that friendships have been forged between many of these characters.
Spider-Man fighting alongside the far more serious Daredevil always makes for an interesting dynamic. Throw in The Punisher (another character Marvel Studios hold the right to now his time as part of the Marvel Television family on Netflix has reached its end) and you have a really compelling mix of characters who each have a very different approach to fighting crime.
Fans are desperate to see this happen, and Spidey is gonna need a lawyer in Spider-Man 3…

Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons – The Movie transforms the CW Seed series into a feature length Slade Wilson adventure, and regardless of whether you watched that or it passed you by, there’s a lot of fun to be had here. Delivering another new take on the iconic comic book anti-hero, the movie picks up with a version of Deathstroke who is attempting to balance his family life with that of an assassin. When H.I.V.E. gets involved, things quickly start falling apart, and what follows is a bloody, R-Rated story of revenge which fans of this character will love.
For those of you who aren’t hardcore Deathstroke fans, your mileage may vary, though it definitely serves as a solid introduction to the character even if it does play fast and loose with the source material. Amazing Spider-Man writer J. M. DeMatteis does a great job reinventing the character, though, and the story only really falters when flashbacks come into play (they feel a little shoehorned in, but that’s likely a result of Knights & Dragons‘ episodic format). There are some great twists along the way, and a killer final act which will keep you on the edge of your seat.
Television tough man Michael Chiklis proves to be a great fit for Slade Wilson, while Chris Jai Alex (Jackal), Colin Salmon (William Wintergreen), Faye Mata (H.I.V.E. Queen), and Sasha Alexander (Adeline “Addie” Kane) all also deliver strong voice performances. It’s an overall solif ensemble which, while not necessarily star-studded, does do an effective job of bringing this corner of the DC Universe to life. Ultimately, this is Chiklis’ movie, and he helps create a Deathstroke that should make fans of the comic books very happy.
Where Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons – The Movie ultimately falls flat is the animation; those of you who are fans of this style will have nothing to complain about, but it’s not quite as polished as some of Warner Bros. Animation’s other DC movies and definitely a tad too basic in places. The action scenes don’t suffer too much, but they could have been even more badass with stronger visuals, and that’s a shame. As it stands, they’re still bloody good fun (literally), and no doubt a must-see for Deathstroke fans.
A solid entry into the DC Animated Universe library, Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons – The Movie may be a little rough around the edges, but the bloody, explosive action should keep fans hooked.

Deathstroke: Knights & Dragons is out NOW on digital download and arrives August 17th on Blu-Ray™ and DVD

Warner Bros. has unveiled the full schedule for DC FanDome, and it’s fair to say that August 22nd will be a very busy, very exciting day. You can check it out by heading to https://schedule.DCFanDome.com where it’s possible to build your own schedule so you know exactly what to tune into next weekend.
However, if you do miss anything, there are plenty of encore presentations, and we’ll obviously be bringing you all the latest updates here on CBM the second they happen.
So, what stands out?
On the film side, Wonder Woman 1984 kicks things off, and it sounds like we’re finally getting a new trailer as the panel’s description promises, “an all-new sneak peek at the upcoming film — plus a few more surprises.” The Flash movie has a ten-minute panel with Ezra Miller, filmmakers Andy Muschietti and Barbara Muschietti, and screenwriter Christina Hodson, while it sounds like The Suicide Squad panel will include both James Gunn and that impressive ensemble.
Dwayne Johnson will be on hand to deliver “a few surprises” for Black Adam, while Aquaman and Shazam! are both getting panels reflecting on the 2018 and 2019 releases (rather than the planned sequels, though there could be some hints about what comes next).
For Justice League, “Zack Snyder fields questions from fans and a few surprise guests as he discusses his eagerly awaited upcoming cut of the 2017 feature film and the movement that made it happen.” Previously, the filmmaker has teased a trailer, title reveal, and more, so that should be a big one.
The main event in some ways is The Batman, a thirty-minute panel “with a surprise (or two) for the fans.” Will that include some sort of trailer? For now, that obviously remains to be seen.
Elsewhere, Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is getting a panel, while there will also be an announcement Warner Bros. Games Montreal. We can also look forward to all the major DC TV shows being highlighted, along with the world premiere of Superman: Man of Tomorrow. Throw in a tonne of comic book panels and various other surprises, and this is going to be EPIC!
We’d love to see your schedules below, but here’s what we’ve put together (timings are BST).
