CASSIAN ANDOR: Jimmy Smits And Alistair Petrie Rumored To Reprise ROGUE ONE Roles In Disney+ TV Series

Image

According to a new report shared by Bespin Bulletin, Jimmy Smits and Alistair Petrie are both in talks to reprise their Rogue One: A Star Wars Story roles in the Cassian Andor TV series coming to Disney+.

Smith obviously played Bail Organa in the Star Wars prequels before returning for that spinoff, and as Alderaan’s Senator and the adoptive father of Leia Organa, there’s a lot of gaps an appearance here could fill in (it certainly opens the door to an appearance from a younger version of the Princess).

As for Petrie, he made his debut in a Galaxy Far, Far Away in Rogue One as General Draven.

A General in the Rebel Alliance, he was there when Jyn Erso was recruited to steal the Death Star plans, and ended up playing a pivotal role throughout the movie. If these claims are accurate, they won’t be the first Rogue One actors to return for Cassian Andor as both Genevieve O’Reilly (Mon Mothma) and Alan Tudyk (K2SO) have signed on to the highly anticipated TV show.

How do you guys feel about this news?

THE NEW MUTANTS Has Been Given A New Release Date; Will Now Hit Theaters This August

Image

After numerous delays and rumors that the movie would be released straight to VOD, Disney has  given Josh Boone’s The New Mutants a new theatrical release date.

The X-Men spinoff will now make its way into theaters on August 28th, 2020.

Fans had been wondering about the status of the movie since it was removed from its theatrical release schedule (it was actually supposed to hit theaters last month) after the mass COVID-19-related production delays and postponements, and a recent Amazon listing seemed to confirm that it would indeed be heading straight to on demand platforms.

It seems crazy to think that The New Mutants was actually filmed back in 2017, but fans of the troubled children of the atom will finally – hopefully – get to see them in action later this year.

Theaters are expected to begin re-opening their doors over the next couple of months in many locations, but that doesn’t mean audiences are going to be comfortable venturing into them, and there’s a lot of speculation that the major tentpoles scheduled for summer releases, Wonder Woman 1984 and Mulan among them, will ultimately wind up shifting dates again.

Disney will now be keeping a very close eye on how Tenet, in particular, fares, as the Christopher Nolan thriller will (supposedly) be first out of the blocks this July.

LUCIFER: THE COMPLETE FOURTH SEASON Is Now Available On Blu-ray & DVD

Image

One year after its debut on Netflix, Warner Bros. Home Entertainment and the Warner Archive Collection have officially released Lucifer: The Complete Fourth Season on Blu-ray and DVD.

Following the immense success of season four, Netflix quickly renewed the Tom Ellis-fronted series for a fifth year and while, at the time, it was dubbed as the final season, multiple reports have since revealed that the streaming giant was very interested in bringing the fan-favorite show back for one more round trip around Hell. However, last we heard, those talks had stalled due to a contract dispute between the streamer and Ellis, which fans are hoping will be resolved relatively soon.

As expected, the physical release is light on special features, but it does include a number of deleted scenes for fans to enjoy as they wait for Netflix to announce a premiere date for the fifth and final season.

His unofficial partner in crime-solving and affairs of the heart, LAPD detective Chloe Decker, returns from an extended vacation – after she saw Lucifer’s devil face for the first time and realized he was, in fact, exactly the man he always claimed to be. And, finally, new to the series but not to the Lord of Hell, comes old flame and original sinner, Eve, whose charms are as tempting to Lucifer now as the serpent’s big, red apple was to her back in the day. Does she want revenge for her expulsion from Eden all those years ago? Or something else entirely? Personal demons get conquered and crimes get solved. But will things ever get right with Deckerstar? Only time and ten scandalous new episodes will tell.
