These are the most-liked videos on TikTok

tiktok

Now that TikTok is starting to become oversaturated with creators hoping to make it big, there are hundreds of videos full of dance routines, pranks, and crazy transitions for our viewing enjoyment. With everyone gunning for a spot on TikTok’s Top 10 list, it can be hard to keep up with who’s actually running the game on the popular platform.

Of course, if you’re a regular TikToker, then you’re aware that viral sensations like Charli D’Amelio, Addison Rae, and Bella Poarch are currently the most successful creators on the app, with all three earning millions of likes only seconds after posting. As with everything, once a few people get their time in the spotlight, they tend to overshadow everyone else hoping to achieve similarly epic numbers.

That said, there are plenty of videos made by other creators that have remained among the most-liked despite the competition created by TikTok’s Big Three. Just in case you haven’t been paying attention, here’s a list of the videos that are currently on the TikTok Top 10.

Franek Bielak’s art

Though he’s only 15 years old, Franek Bielak has earned himself a spot on the most-liked TikTok list consistently for his unique and impressive artwork. Currently, one of his drawing videos has earned 43.6 million likes.

Billie Eilish’s first TikTok

Pop star Billie Eilish recently joined TikTok and being an established celebrity has certainly made a big difference in helping her earn views. On her first video alone, Eilish was able to earn 25.5 million likes, and all she did was try out the Time-Warp Scan filter! Crazy, right?

“British Promise Cats”

There’s one thing that no human being can ignore: a fascination with cute animals just being themselves. And nothing beats watching a cute cat stick his paw and head through a tube while the camera is rolling. Thanks to this very simple idea, “British Promise Cats” currently has 3.3 million likes and counting.

Nick Luciano’s “Sugarcrush” parody video

Known for posting videos of his cowboy lifestyle, Nick Luciano is another creator who has made it on the Top 10 list with his comedic posts and parodies. Another parody video aimed at making people laugh, TikTok creator Nick Luciano’s copy of fellow creator @kaylavoid’s original lip-synching video quickly went viral after it was posted. The video now has over 48 million likes.

A wave hitting a camera

Creator Jordy usually posts incredible clips of his ocean adventures and each one of them has received millions of likes. He even has one video that shows an incoming wave submerging his camera, which provides both a beautiful ocean view and a brief underwater experience. That video is currently sitting at 28 million likes.

Debbie Ryan’s “What I’d Wear” challenge

Actress Debby Ryan made good use of her past characters when she participated in the “What I’d Wear” challenge. From Disney Channel’s Jessie series to the darker Netflix comedy Insatiable, Ryan changed into the various outfits from the past and gave many fans a great nostalgic trip back in time. It’s not surprising that the video has managed to earn 25.8 million views. Once again, it doesn’t hurt that Ryan is already a well-established celebrity.

JustMaiko’s “Ahi” challenge

Creator JustMaiko is currently one of the biggest creators on TikTok. Thanks to his fun and often unique dance videos, he’s managed to snag features from other famous dancers like Jason Derulo. But the video where he got his little brother to join him for a dance on the escalator for the “Ahi” challenge was so adorable and well-choreographed that the post is currently sitting at 25.7 million likes.

Khabane Lame T-shirt stuck in car door

Italian TikTok creator Khabane Khaby Lame quickly reached TikTok stardom with his simple posts on humanity’s inability to master straightforward tasks. He is currently the second most-followed TikToker after Charli D’Amelio with 114.6 million followers. Just a video where he recreates a TikToker’s attempt to free their shirt from a trapped car door using scissors has gotten Lame a whopping 30.8 million likes.

ToTouchAnEmu “Stay” dance routine

Using a drone, TikTok creator ToTouchAnEmu attempted a dance to Kid La’ROI’s “Stay” after watching fellow Tick Toker Max Taylor do the dance. Inadvertently, ToTouchAnEmu breathed new life into the dance trend, which led other TikTokers to use drones to capture their dance footage for the challenge. The video is now one of the most liked at 43 million likes and has been seen 300 million times since its posting.

Lioness hugging her handler

From cute little cats to the big hunters of the jungle, everyone on TikTok loves a good animal video. This clip of a lioness hugging a man is no exception. Posted by @fxxkmin17, it shows a lioness being very ecstatic at the sight of her handler. While Wiz Khalifa’s “See You Again” plays in the background, the two buddies fall to the ground and frolic in a heartwarming (yet quite dangerous) video that has currently gotten 30.3 million likes since being posted in February.

Other most-liked videos

Just because these are the videos currently on the top 10 list, that doesn’t mean that they’re the only ones most-liked on TikTok. There are many others that have even surpassed the number of likes on the top 10 list. Creators like longtime illusionist Zack King have reached billions of views with his online magic. His highest viewed video⏤which currently sits at 2.2 billion viewsconsists of his attempt to ride a broomstick like Harry Potter. He even got into costume for the occasion.

Then there’s creator Kison Kee and his milk fiasco. In the hilarious video, which absolutely serves no other purpose than to make you laugh, Kee slides his feet into plastic cups before falling and smashing a whole bottle of milk onto the floor. Sounds pretty stupid, doesn’t it? Well, that stupidity has gone on to earn Kee a 275.8 million views and 26.8 million likes, so apparently he’s doing something right.

How to block and unblock users on TikTok

TikTok is a great place to share all kinds of content, whether it’s commentary, dancing, comedy, or anything else you can dream up. There are few limits to what you can share on the platform, and given this truth, sometimes you might not want to see certain users’ creations⏤and vice versa.

Thankfully, TikTok has a block feature that will allow you to limit specific users from seeing, sharing, or commenting on your TikToks. There are several reasons why you might want to block a user, but whatever they are, the process is fortunately very simple.

How to block and unblock users on TikTok

tiktok

First things first, you’ll need to have the TikTok app installed on your device and be logged into your account. Once you’ve done this, you’re already halfway there. These are the rest of the steps you’ll need to follow in order to block a fellow TikToker.

  • Find the profile of the person you’d like to block by searching their name or pressing on their account image via the clip you’re currently viewing.
  • Press the three dots in the top right corner of their profile to bring up the menu.
  • From the menu, select the block option and confirm your choice. The user will then be blocked and neither of you can see each other’s content.

If, down the line, you’d like to unblock this user for whatever reason, this can be done through the same process detailed above, only the option will now say “unblock” rather than “block.”

How to unfollow someone on TikTok

TikTok

TikTok has a ton of content to check out and there’s almost an unlimited supply of new videos added to the platform daily. Thankfully, with the “follow” feature, you’re able to easily pick which creators you’d like to keep tabs on more regularly.

Following TikTok users will make their videos appear on your “following” page, where you can find a curated selection of content exclusively from users you’re a fan of.

Like everything else, your taste in TikTok creators may change over time and there might come a day when you don’t want to see one or more of the accounts you’re following anymore. Fortunately, unfollowing fellow users is quick and simple and you can do it right now.

How do I unfollow someone on TikTok?

TikTok Time

Unfollowing a fellow TikToker can be done simply by visiting their user page. Here’s a step-by-step guide on what to do:

  • First, find the user you’d like to unfollow either by pressing their account image on a video of theirs or by searching their name.
  • Once you’re on their profile, simply press the middle button that looks like a figure with a tick on it.
  • Now you’ll see the follow button appear once again, signifying that you no longer are following that user.

If you’re looking to unfollow multiple TikTok users, the best way to find them will be to head to your own profile and press the “following” count on your page. Here you’ll see a list of everyone that you currently follow. If you click the “following” button next to a user’s name, it will instantly unfollow them. It’s that simple!

The most-followed TikTok accounts of 2021

For the past few years, TikTok has grown from a leisurely social app for adolescents into a dominating social platform that has broken user and download records and turned social influencers into celebrities overnight. Month after month, TikTok’s user base continues to grow in unprecedented amounts, making social apps like Instagram and Snapchat seem minuscule in comparison.

Although the platform is still mainly used by Gen Z, TikTok is drawing both Gen X-ers and millennials alike. That shouldn’t be surprising, since the app has also made itself instrumental in promoting and marketing its business and music projects. Brands like Fashionnova have also begun to hire TikTok creators to amplify their marketing campaigns through their massive follower counts, which is another reason why potential creators are rushing to the app in the hopes of snagging themselves lucrative influencer deals.

If you’re looking to become a successful TikToker yourself, then you have to build up a huge following in order to be seen as a top TikTok creator. This list of the most-followed TikTok creators should give you an idea of the type of numbers you need to achieve in order to wildly thrive on the platform.

Will Smith: 60.4 million followers

With celebrities like Jason Derulo, Jessica Ryan, and Billie Eilish all taking part in the TikTok craze, it was only a matter of time before a big movie star like Will Smith got himself an account. Smith successfully used TikTok in 2019 to launch the hashtag challenge #GeminiMan to promote his film of the same name. The big-name action star regularly joins in on popular TikTok trends and even created a series of content promoting the 30th anniversary of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air. True to his personality, Smith’s TikToks often feature funny dance videos and other famous stars from the ’90s.

Zach King: 63 million followers

Before TikTok was even a thing, social media magician Zach King had already climbed to fame with his fantastic and jaw-dropping digital editing skills on the social app Vine. He then moved to YouTube and earned an impressive amount of followers before entering the TikTok world. He currently owns the title of most-viewed TikTok videos with a Harry Potter broomstick illusion that has brought the creator an incredible 2.1 billion views. Thanks to his talent with editing, King has become a top TikTok user and has earned himself many collaborations with more than a few celebrities, including Selena Gomez, Marshmello, and Shay Mitchell. He’s also developed partnerships with brands like Lunchables, PlayStation, Amazon, and Universal Orlando.

Bella Poarch: 77.9 million followers

Who says you have to be talented to be successful at TikTok? Bella Poarch reached TikTok stardom in August 2020 simply by lip-syncing to the song “Soph Aspin Send” by Millie B. A year later, the video still remains the most-liked on TikTok with over 51 million likes and 626.6 million views, which is pretty impressive for a video that doesn’t feature a dance routine or wild transition. Prior to social media stardom, Poarch served in the United States Navy. Now she’s well-known for her comedy TikToks that usually center around gaming.

Now sitting at 70 million followers in 2021, Poarch is poised to potentially take Addison’s #3 spot. Currently, Poarch has partnerships with NYX Cosmetics, Moncler, Linktree, and Valentino. She’s also been featured in Rihanna’s Savage x Fenty Vol. 3 Fashion Show and is currently signed on as a Hyper X brand ambassador. In addition, she’s also entered the music industry and made a few music videos for her singles “Build a Bitch” and “Inferno.”

Thanks to her start on TikTok, she’s also built an immensely popular YouTube following from her posts. Her most popular video came in August 2020, when her version of the WAP dance became the most-shared TikTok of all time with 1.6 million shares.

Thanks to her popularity, Rae has earned herself numerous brand partnerships including CoverGirl, Skechers, Bounty, Chipotle, Reebok, and American Eagle. Not too long ago, she was the highest-earning TikToker in 2020 with an estimated $5 million. In 2021, she launched her music career with the single “Obsessed” and is now part of the highly prolific TikTok creator collective Hype House. She’s even started her own makeup line called Item Beauty. Not only that, but the star has appeared in an episode of Keeping Up with the Kardashians and signed a multi-film deal with Netflix after the release of her movie He’s All That on the streaming platform.

Khabane Lame: 99.9 million followers

Senegalese-born and Italian-based TikToker Khabane Lame joined TikTok in March of 2020 after losing his factory job during the pandemic. The creator soon rose to fame after harnessing the momentum of viral and complicated life hack videos by responding to the videos with wordless reaction clips that showed a simpler way to do the same task. Unlike many TikTok creators, Lame’s rise to stardom has been entirely organic. He hasn’t relied on buying followers or views, nor has he joined any TikTok creator houses. If you notice, his posts are reminiscent of the early TikTok days before the app was embraced by Hollywood and began incorporating the more polished production that TikTok users see today.

Since his humble beginnings in 2020, Lame has even acquired his own fan pages that operate in several languages, including English, German, Arabic, Portuguese, and Spanish. So far, he’s worked with a few creators on collaborations and even has done promotion for the Italian pasta maker Barilla.

Charlie D’Amelio: 130.4 million followers

In March of 2020, Charli D’Amelio became the most-followed TikTok creator on the app at just 17 years old. In November of the same year, her account was the first to reach 100 million followers, knocking Loren Gray out of the top spot. In addition to her TikTok success, D’Amelio has also managed to earn over 9 million YouTube subscribers after collaborating with celebrity personalities like Noah Schnapp and Marshmello. She even ended up being the first star on the app to appear in a Super Bowl commercial, which is pretty impressive for a TikTok creator. To add to her growing list of accomplishments, she’s also the first person to reach 10 billion likes on the platform.

She actually first started creating content in June of 2019 and became extremely popular thanks to her dance routines. She currently averages 27 million views per video and has accrued 10 billion likes on her account over time. Due to her meteoric rise, Charli has attracted a lot of attention from mini brands, prompting her to charge $30 per sponsored post. That adds up pretty fast from her long-term partnerships with brand names like Hollister and Dunkin’ Donuts. But that’s not all. In addition to her brand deals, Charli has also helped launch the joint makeup line Morphe with her sister, Dixie.

Here are the origins of the ‘Miso Soup’ TikTok sound

If you’ve found yourself thumbing through the For You Page of TikTok, it’s impossible that you haven’t seen a video where someone is talking about how they “really want some miso soup.” While the sound was originally posted all the way back in October, it’s gotten a ton of popularity on the platform since then.

The sound features a girl that can be heard saying, “I really want some miso soup.” After a magical sound effect, she remarks, “oh my god, miso soup!” The sound has gone on to inspire other videos where users replace the miso soup with whatever other object they desire.

But many have been asking where the sound came from and trying to track down its origins.

Where did the miso soup sound come from?

The original video featuring the sound was posted by user gnocchi500 and featured her own voice, despite many comments on the video asking if it was really her speaking at all. For anyone hoping the sound came from some forgotten children’s show or whatever else, we’re sorry to burst your bubble. It’s easy to match up her voice if you watch her other videos.

Their second TikTok trend?

Many don’t even realize that this isn’t the first time that gnocchi500 has started a TikTok trend. This is because as a musician, she uses the name beabadoobee. One of her songs, “Death Bed (Coffee for Your Head)” spawned its own trend back in 2020. It’s no surprise that she’s quite popular as so many people enjoy her voice. You can even find all of her songs on Spotify.

Watch: ‘Birds Like Us,’ new animated offering starring Jeremy Irons

x

Jeremy Irons, known throughout the world for portraying Scar in the original The Lion King, has returned to voice a new animated animal character for a feature animated film. Irons, also known for his role as Batman’s butler in Zack Synder’s Justice League, will be lending his talents to bring Birds Like Us to life for audiences.

The film was originally released back in 2017 and was the first Bosnian full-length computer-animated film. The new trailer does specify it is the “2021 movie,” though outside of its trailer being much different than the original, there is no news yet on what differences there will be. You can watch the brand new trailer above.

The film also features voice talents from a few other lesser-known actors who have still played major roles. Kevin Bishop, known for playing Jim Hawkin in Muppet Treasure Island and starring in his own show, plays Hassan in the movie.

Academy Award winner Alicia Vikander of Tomb Raider fame also joins the cast as Huppu. Sheridan Smith, an actress seen across countless TV sitcoms and dramas, voices Gavra. Last but not least, Professor Slughorn from Harry Potter — Jim Broadbent — is also a part of the cast as Kondor.

While Birds Like Us only originally made €7.5 million, it seems that Lionsgate Movies is hoping to bring it to a whole new audience when it releases on Digital, On Demand, and DVD on Jan. 25, 2022.

Watch: New ‘The Book of Boba Fett’ TV Spot teases Boba’s escape from the Sarlacc

x

A new TV spot is stirring anticipation for the Disney Plus Star Wars series The Book of Boba Fett ahead of its release next month.

Starring Temuera Morrison as the titular bounty hunter Boba Fett, this newest glimpse has a tease to the character’s origin, if you will, in that he addresses the fact that he was “left for dead on the sands of Tatooine,” in reference to the character succumbing to the Sarlacc pit at the end of Return of the Jedi.

Perhaps the show will finally address one of the long-speculated methods with which Boba apparently survived the enormous creature, which has previously been explored in books and comics from the ’90s, but whose content is no longer considered canonical.

In J.D. Montgomery’s A Barve Like That: The Tale of Boba Fett anthology from 1996, this was depicted as Boba establishing a telepathic connection to the Sarlacc’s other victims then manipulating the creature that way while also utilizing his jetpack and a few well-placed grenades to facilitate his escape. He was also depicted as having survived the incident in Dark Horse’s Dark Empire comic, though it only divulged that the character survived and didn’t explicitly say how.

All of those previous iterations aren’t considered canon anymore, however, with Disney’s acquisition of Star Wars pruning away many of the legacy novelizations of old from the official timeline.

What we do know is that in this upcoming show Boba is attempting to take over the Tatooine crime syndicate of his former employer, Jabba the Hutt.

We’ll have to see if one fan theory rings true that suggests the bounty hunter was perhaps saved by the Tusken raiders after the Sarlacc incident when The Book of Boba Fett premieres on Disney Plus on Dec. 29.

How to Delete Your TikTok Account

TikTok is a popular app, brimming with content. In fact, since its launch in 2016, the platform has gone from strength to strength, giving users a place to show off their best short videos. Tiktok has over 600 million active users, and over 1 billion video views every week.

However, like any social media app, you may decide to delete your account for several reasons. You might not approve of TikTok’s privacy policy or the app and its content simply aren’t for you. Thankfully, when you know where to look, deleting a TikTok account is surprisingly simple.

So here is a step-by-step guide to the process.

Preparing To Delete TikTok

If you delete TikTok, all the videos you have stored on the service will also be deleted. So, it is best to go through your account and save any videos you want to keep to your phone’s storage, just to make sure you don’t lose any videos you love, or so you can migrate them to a new account in the future.

How To Delete TikTok

TikTok accounts can be deleted from within the TikTok app. To delete your TikTok account, tap the profile icon in the top right of your screen.

Then, look to the top right of the screen, where you will see a line of three dots. Tap these dots to be taken to another menu.

Once you’re in this menu, go to the “Manage Account” option and then navigate to “Delete Account.” The app will then lead you through a series of prompts to confirm that you want to delete your account.

Once this is done, your account will be put in the deactivated state.

What Does Deactivated Mean?

A deactivated account isn’t deleted. TikTok, like many social media sites, doesn’t delete your account right away, giving you a chance to change your mind about the decision.

When an account is set to deactivated, a timer starts. If you don’t log into the account for 30 days after setting it to deactivated, the account and its content get deleted.

However, if you log in during the 30 days, the timer is stopped, and you’ll have to go through the process again, including restarting the 30 days wait. Because of this, it is recommended you log out of the account, turn off any automatic logins you have for it and delete the app when you set the account to deactivated, just to make sure you don’t accidentally login and thus reset the timer.
