TENET Star John David Washington Down For Playing Reed Richards In FANTASTIC FOUR If Kevin Feige Asked

Image

After taking on the lead role of “The Protagonist” in Christopher Nolan’s Tenet, John David Washington’s name keeps coming up when fans discuss the Marvel and DC Universes.

During a recent interview with Nerd Reactor, the actor was asked specifically about superhero roles, and he’s certainly open to the idea. “There’s so many. I think it depends on who’s asking, what director wants to do it with me. We’ll see, I want to stay open. I don’t want to box myself in.”

“Maybe there are characters that haven’t been mentioned yet, or maybe even developed, that haven’t been introduced in any of the films yet. I’d like to see what they come up with, if I ever get asked.” Of course, one character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe many fans would love to see Washington play is Reed Richards, the leader of the Fantastic Four

Asked specifically what he’d say if Marvel Studios President were to offer him the chance to play Mister Fantastic, the actor responded, “I’d say, ‘Well, thank you for having me, thank you for taking this meeting. Where do I sign?'” You can’t blame him for that, though John Krasinski remains the top choice for many comic book fans out there when it comes to Reed.

What do you guys think?

BATWOMAN: Come Get Your First Official Look At Javicia Leslie Under The Cowl In A New Photo

Image

With filming on season two fully underway (and new set photos surfacing daily), new Batwoman star Javicia Leslie has shared a first official look at her in costume as the new protector of Gotham City, Ryan Wilder!

The photo is from her initial screen test, so this was very likely taken the first time she ever tried on the wig, cowl and complete suit, which is identical to the one Ruby Rose (Kane Kane) wore in season one, but Leslie notes that her character will indeed be putting her own spin on the Batsuit at some point during the season.

While they’ll be a new superheroine under the cowl, the main cast will remain largely the same as Rachel Skarsten (Alice), Meagan Tandy (Sophie Moore), Nicole Kang (Mary Hamilton), Camrus Johnson (Luke Fox), and Dougray Scott (Jacob Kane) are all set to return.

Currently confirmed recurring and guest stars include Shivani Ghai (Safiyah Sohail), Christina Wolfe (Julia Pennyworth), Gabriel Mann (Hush), Leah Gibson (The Whisper), and Nathan Owens (Ocean).

Kate Kane never planned to be Gotham’s new vigilante, but with Batman missing and the city in despair, Kate has armed herself with a passion for social justice and an arsenal of high tech weapons, soaring through the shadowed streets of Gotham as Batwoman. At the end of the first season, Crows Commander Jacob Kane has declared a war on Batwoman, forcing everyone around them to choose sides. Meanwhile, Batwoman’s arch-nemesis Alice is focused on acquiring the one thing that can take down the Bat, pulling off her most devious plan yet with the help of Bruce Wayne’s former best friend Tommy Elliot, now terrorizing the city as the villain Hush. Season two kicks off with a major game-changer that will alter Gotham and The Bat Team forever. As the dust settles, Batwoman has everything working against her – including the recently escaped rogues’ gallery of villains – and everyone will come to see her in a whole new light. Alice meets her match when she becomes entangled with a dangerous foe from her past who knows exactly how to prey on her vulnerabilities. As Luke and Mary find their footing as sidekicks, a romance will shake up their dynamic. Meanwhile, Sophie and Julia’s budding relationship will face its first real test and make Sophie question everything she thought she knew to be true.

Batwoman features:

Javicia Leslie as Ryan Wilder/Batwoman

Rachel Skarsten as Beth Kane/Alice

Meagan Tandy as Sophie Moore

Nicole Kang as Mary Hamilton

PETER PAN Live-Action Remake From Disney Adds GROWN-ISH Star Yara Shahidi As Tinkerbell

Image

Deadline confirms that Yara Shahidi will play Tinkerbell in Peter Pan and Wendy, another live-action retelling of one of Disney’s animated classics. This is the first time a person of color has played the character, and a step in the right direction when it comes to bringing diversity to these stories following the casting of Halle Bailey as the lead character in The Little Mermaid

She now joins a cast which includes Jude Law as Captain Hook and Alexander Molony and Ever Anderson, who will play the title characters in this reboot.

David Lowery is directing Peter Pan and Wendy based on script he co-wrote with Toby Halbrooks.

The trade notes that the plan is for this film to be released theatrically rather than on Disney+ (which is where Lady and the Tramp and Mulan both ended up). Multiple attempts have been made to do something with Peter Pan after the 1953 animated classic, but nothing has really come close to that.

Shahidi had her breakout role on the ABC sitcom Black-ish, and recently starred in the Young Adult adaptation of The Sun Is Also a Star opposite Charles Melton. this will be her biggest role to date.

BATMAN: THREE JOKERS #2 Preview Pages Reveal Another Major Twist About The Clown Prince Of Crime

Image

Batman: Three Jokers #1 revealed that there are at least three versions of the Clown Prince of Crime in the DC Universe, and it was heavily hinted that there may have been even more than that. It’s a bizarre, compelling twist in the life of The Joker, and it seems things will get even stranger in issue #2.

In this new look at that second chapter (which goes on sale on September 29th), we learn that “The Comedian” appears to have a home life, with a wife and child waiting for him.

It’s possible that they’re just his hostages, but that doesn’t seem to be the case, and the villain having a child could have major ramifications in the DC Universe moving forward.

“As Batman and Batgirl follow an unexpected thread linking the three Jokers with someone from the Dark Knight’s past, Red Hood dives headfirst into trouble and finds himself struggling to stay afloat without the aid of his allies,” reads DC’s solicitation text for Goeff Johns and Jason Fabok’s second issue.

“Batman: Three Jokers continues its trajectory as the ultimate examination of The Joker and his never-ending conflict with Batman. Prepare yourselves for the second chapter of one of the most terrifying and personal mysteries Batman has ever faced!”

FAST & FURIOUS: SPY RACERS Season 2 Trailer Sees Tony Toretto’s Action-Packed Antics Head To Rio De Janeiro

Image

Universal and DreamWorks Animation have released the first trailer for season two of Netflix Original series Fast & Furious: Spy Racers, with the action this time heading to Rio de Janeiro on October 9th.

Inspired by Universal’s blockbuster Fast & Furious franchise, teenager Tony Toretto follows in the footsteps of his cousin Dom when he and his friends are recruited by a government agency to infiltrate an elite racing league serving as a front for a nefarious crime organization bent on world domination.

In Fast & Furious: Spy Racers Rio, Tony and his crew embark on their first international mission to Brazil. Once in Rio, they discover that Ms.Nowhere’s latest recruit and formidable fellow racer, Layla Gray, is missing in action during an undercover mission. Unwilling to leave family behind, Tony and the Spy Racers don secret identities to find Layla, but end up uncovering a sinister plot that keeps them guessing at every turn.

“Going into season two we really wanted to see the team progress and take on new challenges,” says executive producer Tim Hedrick. “We meet a new villain this season that I guarantee is unlike anyone we’ve ever battled in the Fast universe. Look forward to more of the nonstop crazy fun that these Spy Racers are known for.”

The first season of Fast & Furious: Spy Racers was a hit, and with a cast featuring names like Tyler Posey (Teen Wolf), Luke Youngblood (Community), and Renée Elise Goldsberry (Hamilton), this series is a must-watch for fans of the big screen franchise, and season two looks like an absolute blast.

MOON KNIGHT TV Series Looking To Add Jean-Paul “Frenchie” DuChamp And Love Interest Marlene Alraune

Image

The Direct reports that Marvel Studios has begun searching for two main roles in the upcoming Moon Knight TV series coming to Disney+ from Jeremy Slater. With She-Hulk‘s lead recently found, and Ms. Marvel casting news reportedly imminent, it’s not a huge surprise the focus has now shifted to this highly anticipated show.

The first part is for a, “20-40 (years old), White male. A stereotypical good looking, overly enthusiastic, less intelligent than average but still lovable. Actor must be fluent in French.”

The site believes that’s Jean-Paul DuChamp, a.k.a. “Frenchie.” The description doesn’t sound much like the vigilante’s tech-savvy ally, but it could be he’s undergoing some changes in the MCU.

The second role is described as, “20-35 (years old), all ethnicities, female. A manipulative operative in a secret organization, capable of going from cool and tough to warm and friendly in a heartbeat.” The site believes that’s Marlene Alraune, one of Marc Spector’s love interests in the comics.

She often accompanies Moon Knight and “Frenchie” on their missions, though her being part of a secret organization would definitely be a new addition to the character for this shared universe.

As for Moon Knight himself, there’s still no word on who Marvel Studios wants to play the unhinged hero.

JURASSIC WORLD: DOMINION Director Colin Trevorrow Emphasizes The Importance Of Original Franchise Stars

Image

Jurassic World: Dominion concludes the current trilogy of films, but also promises to finally put the spotlight back on the key cast members from the original Jurassic Park series. Sam Neill, Laura Dern, and Jeff Goldblum have all been confirmed to reprise their roles as Dr. Alan Grant, Dr. Ellie Sattler, and Dr. Ian Malcolm respectively, but they won’t just be making cameo appearances.

Speaking to Games Radar, director Colin Trevorrow emphasized their importance to his film.

“This is the movie I’ve been waiting to make since the beginning,” he teased. “It’s the one we have spent the past two movies building to. It really was part of a larger story and part of a design.”

“I think people may be underestimating the size and importance of Laura Dern and Sam Neill and Jeff Goldblum’s characters in this movie; it is very much an ensemble,” the filmmaker continued. “That element – the ability to take these beloved characters from almost 30 years now and understand how they interact with each other in the context of a world we’ve really never seen before and not been able to witness until now is very exciting for me.”

Jurassic World: Dominion promises to be an epic finale for the franchise, though it seems likely it will continue beyond this chapter in some form, even if it’s in a world that’s become overrun by dinosaurs. A Planet of the Apes-style world does appear to be where things are headed after Fallen Kingdom.
