Watch: The Eerie Nightmare Alley Trailer Is Here

x

Guillermo del Toro is known for being a key component in the creation of the kind of films with staying power. From movies like Hellboy to The Shape Of Water, he knows what people want in a movie-going experience.

That sentiment is part of the reason fans are looking forward to his upcoming film, Nightmare Alley. With a stellar cast and enticing storyline, the movie is set up to be a thriller you won’t want to turn away from.

The trailer for the film dropped today and it is everything fans could have hoped for. It’s got a spooky element, charm and charisma, and an unsettling feeling that will undoubtedly stick with you. It’s got a dark element to it, which is the undertone for the film; manipulation and greed, charisma and charm…how far is too far?

Guillermo made sure to note that fans shouldn’t expect horror from the film in the traditional sense of the word. The scary in this movie will come from the uneasy sense of fear in trusting someone who manipulates as easily as they breathe.

The synopsis for the film is as follows.

“An ambitious young carny with a talent for manipulating people with a few well-chosen words hooks up with a female psychiatrist who is even more dangerous than he is.”

The movie packs a punch with the storyline and the all-star cast including Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Willem Defoe, and Rooney Mara to name a few. Their stories are highlighted in the teaser trailer and fans are already begging to know more.

Who will the master manipulator prove to be? We’ll just have to wait and see when the movie premieres. Fans can see Nightmare Alley in theaters on December 17th.

Watch: I Know What You Did Last Summer Trailer Teases Amazon’s Reboot

x

If you ask 90s horror fans to name some of their favorite slasher films of the decade, chances are, I Know What You Did Last Summer would make the list (next to Scream, of course) almost every single time. The movie focused on a group of friends who killed a man and are plagued with a series of murderously terrifying events.

One by one, the group of friends are picked off until they’re begging to let their secret out, by then, it’s too late and nothing is ever the same again.

Amazon Prime Video is making a TV revival of the film and the teaser trailer was released for it today. A lot like the premise for the film, the tragic events that follow a graduation party are the reason for the secrets of this town, and its main players, to start spilling over.

A few images revealed by Deadline today show some of the turmoil the friends are feeling a year after the tragedy and the weight of the secret they kept.

Starring Brooke Bloom, Madison Iseman, Ashley Moore, Bill Heck, Brianne Tju, Fiona Rene, Ezekiel Goodman, Sebastian Amoruso, and Cassie Beck; the series is full of young star power.

I Know What You Did Last Summer premieres on October 15th on Amazon Prime.

Watch: Alice Joins The Bat-Team In Batwoman Season 3 Teaser

x

2021 has been a strange year for the Arrowverse as we’ve enjoyed a constant stream of content from the DC TV franchise. With Supergirl season 5 and Stargirl season 2 still ongoing, Batwoman is set to return next month for its third season, which promises that a lot is about to change in Gotham City. Case in point, the first teaser promo for season 3 is here and it tells us that Alice (Rachel Skarsen) is finally about to join the Bat-Team. Well, kind of. Check it out above.

Fans have been expecting Alice to make the switch from foe to friend for the longest time, and season 2 saw the anti-villain undertake a fascinating semi-redemption arc that was tied up with the discovery that her sister Kate Kane (Wallis Day) was still alive. Not that she’s exactly jumping for joy about working with the good guys, though. This teaser reveals that Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie), Luke Fox (Camrus Johnson), and Mary Hamilton (Nicole Kang) get Alice out of jail to help them locate the missing Batman villain trophies that were released back into the wild in the season 2 finale.

We know to expect that these dangerous items – such as Penguin’s umbrella and the Mad Hatter’s hat – being out there will mean the introduction of some iconic villains into the Arrowverse. For one, Agent Carter‘s Bridget Regan has been announced to be joining the cast as Poison Ivy, with the former botanist turned femme fatale being revived years after her initial reign of terror on the city.

Other newcomers include Robin Givens as Jada Jet, who fans think might turn out to be Ryan’s biological mother, and Victoria Cartagena as former GCPD detective Renee Montoya, a role the actress previously played on Fox’s Gotham.

Don’t miss Batwoman when it premieres its third season on The CW in exactly a month’s time on October 15th.

I hate the fact that this show has a black woman in the lead role. This woke BS has gone too far.

indeed.

Ok lil hypocrite

Waiting for them to drop Javicia Leslie until there, not watching.

Watch: Star Wars: Hunters Gets New Cinematic Trailer

x

Nintendo and Zynga surprised us today with a cinematic trailer for the upcoming Star Wars: Hunters. In the trailer above, we get a look at how classes will be divided between Jedi and Sith, with versions of lightsaber-wielding force users, heavy gunners, agile fighters with jet packs, and more.

Zynga and Disney reached an agreement in 2018 to develop a mobile game. Developed in conjunction with their subsidiary studio NaturalMotion, Star Wars: Hunters has its sights aimed at the free-to-play, competitive multiplayer market. The game will be published by LucasArts.

Star Wars: Hunters was first announced at February’s Nintendo Direct with a teaser trailer. Apparently set after the fall of the Empire, the matches appear to be set in an in-universe sporting event, though we don’t expect there to be much in the way of story. The game has been compared to other team-based games like Overwatch, where players choose classes and fight to clear objectives rather than reach kill count.

Along with the trailer, Nintendo announced a pre-registration bonus.

The official Star Wars: Hunters website promises “special in-game content” for players that register to receive updates on development and launch dates.

Star Wars: Hunters will launch on Nintendo Switch, iOS, and Android in 2022.

Watch: New Chucky Featurette Promises Laughs, Screams, And Tears

x

There’s just a month left to go before Chucky comes back to our screens in his own self-titled series, the first time the Child’s Play franchise has materialized on TV. As well as taking the horror universe back to its routes, leaving out some of the wilder, campier elements from the later movies, it’ll also be updating and expanding its remit in fresh ways to give it more depth than ever before.

At least, that’s what creator Don Mancini is promising in this new two-minute featurette for the incoming Syfy show, which you can check out above. In it, Mancini says that we can expect all the usual scares and moments of black comedy, but also some surprisingly emotional material, too.

“People will laugh and they will scream in the ways that they expect,” he says, “but I also hope to make people cry.”

The heart of the series promises to be the “very sweet teen gay romance”, as Mancini puts it, between Zachary Arthur’s protagonist, Jake Wheeler, a boy who finds Chucky at a yard sale, and his boyfriend, Devon (Björgvin Arnarson).

“We explore a very sweet teen gay romance that I think people might be surprised at the depth of it, and I think it has a whiff of real life pain.”

Mancini went on to say that old-school fans will have much to enjoy, with the featurette including glimpses of Jennifer Tilly and Fiona Dourif, both of whom are back as popular characters Tiffany Valentine and Fiona Dourif, but newcomers will get hooked on the show’s “rich story”.

“Longstanding fans will of course find plenty of what they’ve come to love,” Mancini concluded, “but new fans I think are going to find a surprisingly rich story, with complex characters.”

On top of all that, Chucky has also been confirmed to explore the origins story of Charles Lee Ray, who is once again voiced by Brad Dourif, with it revealed how his twisted childhood turned him into a killer in the first place.

Mancini, who serves as showrunner alongside Brand New Cherry Flavor‘s Nick Antosca, wrote and directed the pilot episode for Chucky. Catch the eight-episode first season when it premieres on Syfy and USA Network on October 12th.

Watch: New What If…? Promo Teases Killmonger’s Return

What If Killmonger

Disney Plus’ new Marvel series, What If…?, is taking audiences through a set of stories by asking one of the most enlightening and sometimes heartbreaking questions there is to ask — what if?

The episodes so far have seen everything from T’Challa becoming a Star-Lord to Nick Fury struggling to save the Avengers from a serial killer and even zombies. That’s right — the series turned some of our favorite heroes into Zombies in episode 5 of the animated series.

The storylines are exciting and give fans of the Marvel Universe a way to see what could have been with our favorite heroes if a storyline was changed ever so slightly — often, those small steps in a different direction lead to lasting impacts.

In this week’s episode, we see the what if that will probably bring Avengers fans to tears. While it won’t follow the exact storyline we saw unfold within the MCU, fans will get to see Tony Stark saved from certain death instead of meeting his fate as we did in Avengers: Endgame.

The trailer for this week’s episode shows Killmonger finding out about an assassination attempt against Tony Stark, and he’s the only one who can save him.

Just yesterday, the poster for this week’s episode showed that Killmonger would be the focus of Wednesday’s premiere, and now we know a bit more about what that storyline looks like. Marvel fans can tune in to Disney Plus tomorrow to see what the world would look like if Killmonger had saved Stark and quite possibly what one of the most remarkable friendships in the realm would be.

Women’s Rights Group Gets VTuber’s Controversial PSAs Taken Down — Fans Fight To Bring Them Back

x

There are a lot of ways to try and teach younger audiences about things like traffic safety or the best way to ride a bike and not get hurt but one police department in Japan decided to get creative. The Matsudo City Police Department collaborated with VTuber Rika Tosada to create several videos about these kinds of topics but they sparked outrage with one women’s rights group.

The Feminist Parliamentary League raised complaints about the videos due to the “misogyny” they presented. This included things like Tosada’s “sailor-uniform-like attire,” “exposed navel,” and her “moving breasts.” While the videos were removed from the Matsudo YouTube account, the videos remain up on VASE’s channel — a VTuber group Tosada works with.

It doesn’t seem that fans are willing to take this move sitting down either. Setsuko Itakura, the CEO of VASE, published her own press release about the event and started a petition to bring the videos back to the channel. The petition currently has over 34,700 signatures and brings up several points against the Feminist Parliamentary League’s issues with the videos.

“Why do you conclude that VTuber’s ‘short clothes’ and ‘big breasts’ are immediately ‘sexual objects?’ Please explain the clear mechanism why VTuber’s awareness of traffic safety in the area leads to ‘induction of sex crimes.’”

While there’s no word yet on if the videos will return to the Matsudo YouTube, those interested to see the now controversial safety PSAs can see one example below.

What Is The Ace Family’s Net Worth?

There are a million ways to make money online in 2021. From simple startups to branded videos and sponsored podcasts, anyone who’s looking can find a few dozen ways to monetize their talents on the web. This is particularly true on YouTube, which offers a variety of advertising partnership and sponsorship opportunities for interested creators.

Some people are better at pulling in those monetary returns than others, like YouTube’s immensely popular ACE family. The ACE family YouTube channel features former NCAA star Austin McBroom, his wife Catherine Paiz McBroom, and their three children; Alaia, Elle, and Steel. They are no stranger to controversy, but that hasn’t stopped this famous family from raking in the cash.

Ace Family net worth

The ACE family YouTube channel is a smorgasbord of influencer culture, peeks into the family’s home dynamics, viral challenges, and pranks. The typical upload sees the family providing a window into their luxurious lifestyle, with the kids and their parents as the channel’s near-constant focus. It’s a pretty typical “day in the life” approach, but one through which people can witness a uniquely opulent lifestyle.

The channel has been around since 2016. The first uploads featured Austin and Catherine back when they were still dating, and saw far more of the typical YouTube fare, complete with plenty of silly pranks and gags. This formula has evolved into a pretty typical vlog format, which has earned the channel an impressive 19.1 million subscribers. The channel sees new uploads around once a week, sometimes twice, and most new videos earn view counts in the low millions. In total, the ACE family’s videos have collected more than 4 billion views over the years, a staggering number by anyone’s standards.

Between their YouTube earnings and the money their previous careers earned them, the ACE family boasts an enviable net worth of more than $18 million, according to Nail Buzz. On YouTube alone, the family brings in an estimated $7,000 a day, based on the approximately 850,000 daily views they get.

The ACE family also has an online store, which sells everything from backpacks and water bottles to hoodies, socks, and phone accessories. This store certainly adds to their annual earnings, as do any potential sponsors or partnerships the family has taken on.

Several lawsuits and broiling controversies have likely struck a blow to the ACE wallet. So much so, in fact, that rumors swirled earlier this year that the family was at risk of losing their $7 million home. The speculation was debunked, however, after Austin took to Instagram to address the claim. He noted that they would inform their fans if any issues arose regarding their income or housing situation.

Other lawsuits, including several that allegedly arose out of the ACE Club fansite and Catherine’s 1212 line of skincare products, have also damaged their image. With a net worth of nearly $20 million, however, they are likely weathering things just fine.

Watch: New Story Trailer Breaks Down Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy Game

x

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, coming Oct. 26, received a new story trailer at today’s PlayStation showcase.

Eidos-Montreal and Square Enix’s upcoming game, which casts players as Peter Quill AKA Star-Lord, introduces a new plot where the Guardians go up against the Universal Church of Truth. The Church is hellbent on a messianic journey to introduce the “Promise” across the galaxy, which vows to reintroduce everything lost in an enormous Galactic War that rocked the universe just 12 years prior to the game’s start.

Expect a perfect blend of classic Marvel humor along with action-packed gameplay set to ’80s hits. The game’s graphics certainly look impressive too, although the trailer, seen above, warns that image quality is ultimately dictated by your system’s specs. So if you’ve been waiting on a PlayStation 5, now might be the time to pull the trigger.

Alongside the main storyline, the trailer shows off the journey fans can expect when the game launches this fall, including Cosmo, a dog with “powerful telepath,” according to a PlayStation explainer blog. Expect Star-Lord to make plenty of friends and foes along the way when Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy launches on PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 this October.
