Sad that there’s only one episode left to go of Loki? Don’t be, as your next Marvel TV obsession is right around the corner. In just over a month’s time, arguably the most unique Marvel Studios production released so far debuts on Disney Plus. It’s Marvel’s What If…?, the animated anthology series that will check in on a different reality each episode. This Thursday, Disney finally dropped the first trailer for the show, which features numerous familiar faces in fresh contexts. Check it out via the player above.

The trailer begins with a scene that mirrors how the MCU kicked off back in 2008’s Iron Man – but this time, Tony Stark is rescued in the desert by Killmonger! Other alternate worlds glimpsed in the promo include one where T’Challa has become Star-Lord, Peggy Carter is Captain Britain, the Guardians defeated Loki in the Battle of New York and even one where the Avengers are all zombies, a la the Marvel Zombies universe.

In most cases, the show will see the cast of the MCU reprising their roles, with the likes of Chris Hemsworth, Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael B. Jordan, Hayley Atwell, Michael Rooker and the much-missed Chadwick Boseman heard in this trailer. Unfortunately, despite fans hoping otherwise, Robert Downey Jr. will not be returning as Iron Man, with a different performer voicing the character. Elsewhere, Westworld‘s Jeffrey Wright will be joining the franchise as The Watcher, who will be narrating each episode.

The trailer dropped alongside the first poster for the series, which you can find in the gallery above. It showcases even more alt-heroes, including Gamora in Thanos’ armor, a victorious Ultron and… wait, is that Spider-Man as the Sorcerer Supreme?

From director Bryan Matthews and showrunner A.C. Bradley, Marvel’s What If…? kicks off its 10-episode first season – a second is already on the way – on Wednesday, August 11th. In the meantime, don’t miss Black Widow in theaters this weekend and the Loki finale next week.

Netflix has released a new trailer for Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness ahead of the show’s release later this week, this time with attention focused squarely on Raccoon City survivor Leon S. Kennedy. The former police officer, now an agent and bodyguard hired tasked with protecting the US president at all costs, is faced with yet another nightmare mere years following his detour in rural Spain, this time in the form of a terrorist attack on the White House.

Joined by several colleagues, Leon, something of an expert you might say, on the topic of undead assailants, once again comes face to face with an army of walking corpses during the events of Infinite Darkness, introducing himself in today’s trailer shortly after saving the life of another security guard. Proceeding on foot to the Oval Office, he and the remaining staff escort the country’s leader to the safety of a bunker before departing to sweep the building for any further intruders.

Unsurprisingly, the footage offers absolutely no insight on the individual responsible for this outbreak or, for that matter, what their motives are, though it’s safe to say that discovering the truth will be no easy task. Elsewhere, Claire Redfield will be performing her own investigation into suspicious activities, with both heroes, last seen together during the events of Resident Evil 2, likely to reunite as a means of combating this new threat to civilian life.

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness releases tomorrow, July 8th, and is due to be followed later in the year with two live-action productions based on the franchise, one a feature-length reboot; the other an episodic series once again produced by Netflix. It has been more than seven years since the last RoboCop film hit theaters, and it’s been nearly 35 years since the very first film released and began a now-iconic media franchise.

There have been several video games based on the movies in the past, but NACON announced today that a new game, RoboCop: Rogue City, will be developed by Teyon and released in 2023 on console and PC. The game will feature a new story while being based on the first three films in the series (released in the late 1980s and early 1990s). There have been five RoboCop video games, with the last being released in 2003.

NACON said in a press release that the developers, working alongside MGM, aim to “develop an authentic RoboCop game experience that is faithful to the franchise’s DNA, while immersing gamers in an original story that enables them to play as none other than RoboCop himself.”

The film series centers around former Detroit police officer Alex Murphy, who was murdered by crime boss Clarence Boddicker. Omni Consumer Products then used parts of his body and transformed him into RoboCop. The original film was well-received by critics, but the second and third films did not perform as well at the box office or critically. The series was revived with the 2014 film RoboCop, which received mixed reviews but brought in nearly $250 million at the box office worldwide.

Netflix launched a unique movie/TV hybrid last week which is going down a storm with viewers. The Fear Street trilogy – a trio of teen horror films – is releasing weekly for the first three Fridays of this month, offering subscribers the thrill of a feature-length chiller but also the cliffhanger endings and anticipation for next week’s chapter that comes with watching a TV show. Following Part 1: 1994 debuting on July 2nd, the first trailer for Fear Street Part 2: 1978 has now arrived. Check it out via the player above.

The story of the darkness that plagues the town of Shadyside continues in this middle entry in the trilogy, which sees the action travel back to 1978, where the teens spending their summer at Camp Nightwing find themselves trapped in a nightmare when a(nother) masked murderer starts taking them out one by one. As revealed in this trailer, we’ll be learning about the horrors that Gillian Jacobs’ C. Berman experienced in her own adolescence.

Stranger Things star Sadie Sink leads the cast this time, as joined by Emily Rudd, McCabe Slye, Ryan Simpsons and Brandon Spink. Meanwhile, Kiana Madeira, Benjamin Flores Jr., Olivia Scott Welch and others reprise their roles from Part 1 in the wraparound narrative. Here’s how the full synopsis puts it:

“Shadyside, 1978. School’s out for summer and the activities at Camp Nightwing are about to begin. But when another Shadysider is possessed with the urge to kill, the fun in the sun becomes a gruesome fight for survival.”

Just as the 90s-set opening chapter tipped its hat to Scream, Part 2 promises to pay homage to the great horrors of the 70s. The summer camp setting instantly brings to mind 1980’s Friday the 13th while one scene in the trailer teases a prank involving a bucket of fake blood – i.e. 1976’s Carrie. What’s more, the year of 1978 is a key one in horror history as it was the year the original Halloween hit theaters.

Fear Street Part 2: 1978 premieres on Netflix this Friday, July 9th. The trilogy – which this trailer boldly labels “the movie event of the summer” – then concludes with Part 3: 1666 on July 16th.

The final season of The Walking Dead will no doubt be one to remember. As the conclusion to the core show, it’ll wrap up plot lines that’ve been developing ever since things kicked off back in October 2010. And with a premiere date of August 22nd locked in, the hype machines are starting to heat up.

A recent promo offered us a peek at season 11’s opening two-parter, which is set to reintroduce us to the Commonwealth and showed Eleanor Matsuura (Yumiko), Paola Lazaro (Princess), and Khary Payton (Ezekiel) goofing around behind the scenes. There was also a hint that the action is being kicked up a notch, too, as Payton said he feels like he’s in a cinematic production.

Now, we have some more to chew on, with the above promo landing online today and bringing us a tantalizing tease of what we’re in for. Unfortunately, it doesn’t feature any footage from the new episodes, but it does at least set the stage for the final season of The Walking Dead, which can’t get here soon enough.

New Walking Dead Season 11 Photos Tease Surprising Allies

Of course, given that this is the last run of the show, expectations are through the roof and it’s fair to say that the last few years have been a bit bumpy. That being said, season 10 certainly delivered the goods and then some and all the signs are pointing to a suitably explosive ending for The Walking Dead.

Speaking of which, just because the parent show is coming to a close, that doesn’t mean the franchise itself is done on television. Far from it, in fact. With several spinoffs already airing, and many more to come – not to mention those movies starring Andrew Lincoln – AMC’s zombie drama has a very bright future ahead of it.

We’re still waiting on an official sequel announcement for the recent live-action reboot, which is no doubt coming soon, but Mortal Kombat fans are at least getting another feature-length animated adventure in the not too distant future.

Yes, as you no doubt know, Jennifer Carpenter and Joel McHale have been confirmed to return as Sonya Blade and Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms, which has been in the works for a while now and will be with us later this summer – on August 31st.

First installment Scorpion’s Revenge scored solid reviews from critics and fans, and sits on a 91% score on Rotten Tomatoes. Naturally, then, folks are excited about Battle of the Realms, and the first trailer has now landed online, teasing us with another bloody and violent outing. And frankly, we wouldn’t have it any other way.

As far as plot details go, well, it’s not like anyone will be watching this for the story, but for what it’s worth, it’ll see Outworld ruler Shao Kahn entrap Raiden into having his warriors take part in yet another tournament to decide the fate of Earthrealm. So in other words, it’s pretty standard stuff for the series.

Will it be able to live up to the heights set by Scorpion’s Revenge, though? That remains to be seen, but with both that film and the aforementioned live-action reboot performing so well, the pressure is certainly on for Mortal Kombat Legends: Battle of the Realms to deliver the goods and we’ll find out if it can later this summer.

After Godzilla vs. Kong defied the effects of the Coronavirus pandemic to earn $444 million at the box office, it was inevitable that Warner Bros. and Legendary’s MonsterVerse would continue. Sure enough, director Adam Wingard was swiftly revealed to be in talks with the studio to helm the next chapter in the franchise, which may or may not be Son of Kong. However, a new fan trailer has imagined the chaos and unimaginable carnage that would ensue if Toho’s classic run of films had introduced… Clifford the Big Red Dog.

The beloved children’s favorite is getting the live-action treatment with Alvin and the Chipmunks: The Road Chip‘s Walt Becker behind the camera, and the family film is scheduled to hit theaters this September. The fan trailer decides to put an entirely different spin on the recently released first promo for Clifford the Big Red Dog, by imagining the massive canine as a nuclear abomination with the power to wreak havoc on Tokyo, a premise that sounds much more appetizing if we’re being perfectly honest.

Godzilla Vs. Kong Gets A Pair Of Epic New Posters

The footage spliced together works surprisingly well, even if it is incredibly jarring to heard Godzilla’s signature roar coming out of Clifford’s mouth, but sadly the feature film rights to the literary character belong to Paramount, so the chances of seeing him throw down with the residents of the Hollow Earth are slim to none.

You’ve got to hand it to the brains behind the fan trailer, because it certainly paints Clifford the Big Red Dog in a very different and much more exciting light than what’s no doubt going to be a cloying and overly saccharine adaptation, especially when Becker’s track record as a director is hardly bursting with classics.

Don’t Breathe was one of the best horror movies of the 2010s. Directed by Fede Álvarez and co-produced by Sam Raimi, the film was intended as a counterpoint to the 2013 remake of Evil Dead. What they came up with featured less blood, more suspense, and no reliance on supernatural elements… but was still absolutely terrifying. Now, the pair are back for another round, and it’s all showcased in this amazing new trailer for Don’t Breathe 2.

The original focused on three low-level criminals in Detroit who decide to break into the house of Gulf War veteran Norman Nordstrom (Stephen Lang), after hearing he’s got $300,000 tucked away inside. Upon realizing he’s blind, they figure he’s an easy mark. They’re wrong, though, and quickly realize they’ve bitten off way more than they chew as they learn more about what Nordstrom is really up to.

While I don’t want to spoil exactly what goes down in the first movie, the sequel continues the story. Set several years on from those events, we’ll find Nordstrom living in an isolated cabin with a young girl he’s raising after her parents died in a house fire. Their peace is shattered, though, when she’s kidnapped, forcing Nordstrom to rescue her despite being blind. This theoretically makes him into more of a hero, though given his morally questionable actions in the first movie, I’m betting there’s going to be a sick twist at the heart of this story.

If Don’t Breathe 2 can match the success of the original, Sony Pictures will be very happy. The first outing made $158 million on a budget of just $10 million, going on to be nominated for many awards, including winning Best Supporting Actor for Stephen Lang at the Fangoria Chainsaw Awards and Best Horror Film at the Saturn Awards.

Even better, we don’t have too long to wait, as Don’t Breathe 2 hits theaters on August 13th, 2021.

The advent of the streaming service has arguably been of massive benefit to B-tier genre cinema, with titles that would either score a limited theatrical release or be shuffled onto VOD with barely a marketing push now able to find a massive worldwide audience, and Netflix’s upcoming high concept vampire movie Blood Red Sky will be looking to become the platform’s next breakout hit.

It’s an arena that the streamer has found plenty of success in, with recent mid budget thrillers and chillers like Vampires vs. the Bronx, Stowaway, Below Zero, Xtreme, Red Dot, Oxygen and Awake all managing to draw in a decent crowd. Peter Thorwarth co-writes and directs Blood Red Sky, which boasts one hell of a central premise.

A woman and her child are traveling on a transatlantic flight that’s taken over by a band of terrorists, putting the family in peril when the mother is kept away from her medication. Unfortunately for the bad guys, it turns out that her ailment involves a transformation into a bloodsucking creature of the night, and there’s no escape 30,000 feet in the air.

Take a dash of Kurt Russell’s Executive Decision, sprinkle it with a little bit of Snakes on a Plane, stir in just the merest hint of Air Force One and a pinch of 30 Days of Night, and you’ve almost got Blood Red Sky. The full-length trailer looks like a lot of fun, mixing and matching genres at will to deliver a race against time thriller with action and supernatural elements, and now that it’s been given an official release date of July 23rd, horror fans can mark it down in their calendars.

Ready for some summer scares? Then you’re in luck as Netflix is about to serve up a trilogy of linked horror movies over the next month. We’ve already had a trailer for all the Fear Street films, but this latest promo focuses on the first chapter in the series, titled Fear Street Part 1: 1994, teasing a 90s-set slasher flick that is probably more intense than folks might be expecting. As the trilogy is based on a book series by Goosebumps author R.L. Stine, fans are likely anticipating something pretty kid-friendly. However, Netflix is actually aiming this trilogy at a more mature audience, with each of the three films sporting an R-rating. And that’s clear from this promo, which gives us as a glimpse at the brutal murders committed by a mystery serial killer operating in the creepy town of Shadyside.

The setting of Shadyside is what links the Fear Street trilogy together. Though each one will be standalone, they’ll all take place in the same location, with viewers who watch all three getting a better understanding of what’s caused the town to become a hub of supernatural evil. While the first is based in the year 1994, the second is set in 1978 and the third jumps much further back in time, visiting Shadyside in 1666.

The cast for Fear Street Part 1 includes Kiana Madeira, Ashley Zukerman, Gillian Jacobs and Stranger Things star Maya Hawke. Another alum of Netflix’s hit series, Sadie Sink, will also play a critical role in the trilogy. So those who are eager to go back to the town of Hawkins, Indiana may wish to take a trip to Shadyside while they wait.

The Fear Street trilogy unfolds across the first three Fridays of July. Catch Part 1 when it debuts on Netflix at the end of this week on July 2nd.
