Every Viking dreams of one day feasting with their forefathers in Valhalla, but for our protagonists in Vikings: Valhalla, that day might be fast approaching despite their young age.
Vikings: Valhalla is officially returning for another run on January 12, 2023, and its latest trailer, as you can see above, promises an adventure quickly spiraling out of control for our trio of lead characters.
Taking place more than a century after the events of the original series on the History channel and later Netflix, Valhalla centers around Leif Erikson, Freydís Eiríksdóttir, and Harald Sigurdsson as they try to make their way in the world in a period of volatility for the Danes and their Christian rulers in the new lands. All three characters have been taken out of real history pages, with Leif Erikson, in particular, standing out as the first European to have set foot in America almost 500 years before Christopher Columbus.
Netflix has also released an official poster, which you can check out below.
Valhalla also explores the end of an era for the Viking way of life, and according to its showrunner Jeb Stuart, the spinoff will end with the Battle of Stamford Bridge in 1066, officially marking the end of the Viking Age. Other historical figures who appear in the story include King Cnut the Great, Olaf Haraldsson, Queen Emma of Normandy, and Godwin of Wessex.
The series received acclaim in its first season, and evidently enough attention to warrant a second season at Netflix. The show may feature none of your beloved characters from the original, but according to the fandom, it does a well enough job of setting up a completely new ensemble. As for how long it’ll run, only time will answer that question for us.

Funko Pop vinyl figurines can be anything anyone wants them to be these days. Not only are there versions of celebrities and favorite characters throughout film and television, but a customer can even have a Funko avatar of themselves. Fun to have and fun to show off, but not fun for investors who are watching the stock plummet as TikTok is signaling its downfall like the fade of the Beanie Baby sensation.
As if Machine Gun Kelly himself summoned this conversation, one Funko fan says “Let’s talk about it.” In a Vox report, these neat little toys have been out since 2011 and that year they sold about 20 million worth of product. They’re not doing so well these days and it reminds people of the rise and fall of Beanie Babies which had a good run in the 90s but found a way to kill its own popularity by the end of the decade.
At one time back in 2018, the price of FNKO was almost $30. Today, it’s below $10 and dropping by the second which gives investors so much reason for concern. This TikTok report is putting everyone on alert, but some followers are just having fun with it because after all it’s a toy and when consumers take toys too seriously, things get ugly.
As one TikToker notes, Funko has a way of going overboard on how many versions of a character they make. If there’s a reason, a second or third version might be worth making. Consumers just don’t need a toy made for every clothing change and look an icon has.

Making another good point is a fellow TikToker who doesn’t see the need for everything walking or imaginable to be made into a squarehead vinyl figurine. Overkill at its best when a company has something good and shoves it down everyone’s throat rather than let consumers appreciate the rarity of certain items.

Seeing them on the shelves at stores like TJ Maxx, Ross, and Burlington is TikTok’s biggest Funko fan’s signal that the toy is on a serious downfall that it might not be able to bounce back. As he tours a store and looks at the merchandise on the shelves, he makes a few good points about how they’re treated and displayed. If they’re just haphazardly thrown in a box, the perceived value definitely drops.
This TikToker talks as if she expected this to happen. Not surprised at all, she lists that there are way too many variants and not everything in the world had to be made into a collector’s item. That beats the purpose of being a collector’s item.
In the most recent wrap-up, Funkofinz is back on the topic detailing why the merchandise isn’t selling and he even rates a few of the latest releases. His scores aren’t good and he’s one of their biggest fans.
Buy Funko for the fun of it, but at this time it’s not a good investment. Of course, the bears of investing are like a piranha when stocks fall. They love buying low and selling high. That’s all good, but will Funko ever bounce back?

In the amazing world created by netizens, filled with memes being created every single day, at times there are just unexplainable audios or images that pop into our heads from time to time. Whether it be through Tumblr, Twitter, or TikTok, everyone will be creating a meme out of quite literally every single moment in life. Sometimes, those memes may originate from an image or even a simple sound, but at the end of the day, everything will be ‘meme-worthy.’
One of the many trends to have come up in recent years is the clip and audio from CBBC, a British children’s TV channel. In the video, the puppet Hacker T. Dog and co-host Lauren Layfield, hilariously break out in a laughing fit in a blooper that went viral years after it was released on Youtube. Layfield is seen cracking up at her co-star’s hysterical delivery of his line.
The CBBC HQ short blooper dates back to 2016, however, according to Know Your Meme, the video was unearthed in April 2022, leading to the immense amount of videos surfacing with T.Dog’s line, “We’re just normal men. We’re just innocent men.”
After several clips were shared with variations of the bloopers, and a reaction tweet by Layfield herself, the viral clip inspired an overflow of videos that included the mockery of public figures through the use of the audio overlapping the hand-picked clips. The public figures include soccer player Harry Maguire, and U.K. former prime minister, Boris Johnsson.
The trending audio and clip have since taken over Tik Tok, where several users have also been using the increasingly popular 2013 blooper to emulate their daily lives. In a hilarious turn of events, the cast members responsible for the viral clip have also reenacted the viral scene and posted it to the video platform.
The reenactment video has received over three thousand likes and Phil Fletcher, who voiced T. Dog, even wittingly admitted that the viral moment happened solely because he wanted to make Layfield laugh. After all, who doesn’t love a wholesome and comedic duo on and off camera?

This might just turn out to be the adaptation of our dreams. HBO has just dropped a full-length trailer for The Last of Us, and it features a song that video game fans will recognize all too well.
Starring Pedro Pascal and Bella Ramsey in the lead roles of Joel and Ellie, respectively, the show is an adaptation of the acclaimed 2013 game by Naughty Dog. Chernobyl‘s Craig Mazin and Naughty Dog’s own Neil Druckmann are overseeing the project, which, according to this latest trailer you see above, is trying its hardest to recapture the magic of the original.
The trailer highlights the strained relationship between Joel and Ellie, and how reluctantly the former accepted to accompany her across the apocalyptic landscape of the United States. There’s also a melodious cover of “Take Me On” accompanying the trailer, which most fans would not only as the hit ’80s classic but the song that Ellie gave a gut-wrenchingly emotional rendition of during The Last of Us Part II.
All in all, it seems that Druckmann and Mazin are here to tug on your heartstrings again, so go in expecting anything, even a deviation from the original storyline that you wouldn’t see coming. In fact, the producers may have opted to combine the narrative beats from the two games into a coherent story for the live-action adaptation, so, without going into spoilers, who knows how long it’ll take them to reach that defining moment in Ellie’s life which took place in Part II?
At any rate, The Last of Us is slated for a Jan. 15 premiere on HBO platforms.

It’s here, folks! The long-awaited second trailer for The Super Mario Bros. Movie has landed.
In the last few months, we’ve had ample content for the upcoming CGI live-action movie, which draws inspiration from the long-running Super Mario Bros. video game series. Last month, Nintendo unveiled the first look at Chris Pratt’s Mario, Jack Black’s Bowser, and Keegan Michael-Key’s Toad.
Mario fans weren’t impressed by the Guardians of the Galaxy star’s voice, so much so that they even petitioned to have Mario’s voice actor changed. The first trailer opened a whole can of worms, especially where Pratt’s Mario was concerned. If it wasn’t his voice that was criticized, it was his flat butt of all things.
Perhaps one of the biggest reveals to come from Nintendo is the individual character posters of Mario, Luigi, Toad, and Princess Peach. Anya Taylor-Joy’s Peach design finally made an appearance, an underdog in the promotional marketing for The Super Mario Bros. Movie, having been entirely excluded from the first trailer in favor of Pratt’s Mario and Black’s Bowser. This time around, however, Peach steals the spotlight, and she’s certainly not the damsel in distress that previous iterations have led us to believe she is.
As you can see for yourself above, the footage predominantly centers around Princess Peach, but we finally get a decent glimpse of Seth Rogen’s Donkey Kong, too.
That said, nothing will ever forgive Chris Pratt’s voice. Not Peach. Not Bowser. Not anyone. There’s still serious controversy surrounding Nintendo’s casting choice on this one. No one seems to have any gripes with Black, Michael-Key, or Taylor-Joy. Heck, even Charlie Day’s Luigi is pretty safe, but Mario fans are sharpening their pitchforks and lighting their torches to make a beeline straight for Pratt.
It’s been said that Mario’s voice actor should have been Italian to match the character’s heritage, but American actor Day hasn’t received the same flack. All of this could be related to the fact that not many people like Pratt as a person. But fret not, Mario fans. There’s plenty to sink one’s teeth into when it comes to The Super Mario Bros. Movie. It definitely seems that Nintendo is pushing for nostalgia with the landscape design, character reveals, and world-building aspects that make Super Mario… well, Super Mario.
Mark your calendars, folks, because we’re closer than ever to seeing the dream of a Super Mario animated movie realized when the Chris Pratt-led flick makes its way to theaters on April 7, 2023.
