Watch: Two Spine-Tingling Clips From Netflix’s No One Gets Out Alive

x

The spookiest time of the year is upon us, and everyone is binging horror classics, diving into new terrifying film and tv series, and surrounding themselves with the type of entertainment that makes it hard to sleep at night. The ghouls and goblins, witches, and even the crazed killers are making their way back to the forefront of the pop culture realm.

Many streaming services have already released their fun and frightening lineups for the Halloween season, and one of those is Netflix. With an impressive array of old favorites and new releases, fans won’t have to skimp on the spooky factor this year.

One of those is the upcoming film; No One Gets Out Alive, coming to Netflix on September 29th. The synopsis for the film, provided by Netflix, is as follows.

Desperate and without documentation, a woman from Mexico moves into a rundown Cleveland boardinghouse. Then the unsettling cries and eerie visions begin.

The film stars Cristina Rodlo, Marc Menchaca, David Figlioli and is based on a novel, of the same name, by horror writer Adam Nevill. The novel description gives more detail into what the young woman’s life will look like in the Netflix horror film.

As the tenant experiences life in the boardinghouse, strange occurrences and visions plague her and she suddenly realizes that the life she tried to escape from might have been a lesser evil compared to what she’s found. It’s a supernatural-horror book, and the Netflix film will follow suit, so it won’t be an easy watch for those who are genuinely spooked by the idea of ghosts and supernatural frights.

Bloody Disgusting premiered two clips from the upcoming film today. Santiago Menghini, director of the film, shared information about each clip with BD, and of the first, the shower scene, Menghini had this to say about what he was hoping to accomplish.

“In this scene, Ambar is beginning to understand that all is not what it seems in this house… that the bumps and creaks she hears in the night might not just be expanding pipes. They might be screams…I wanted to play with the use of sound to build mystery and dread. Uncertainty feeds anxiety. From this point on, it is clear something is terribly wrong with this house.”

In an additional scene, Amber is faced with a fear different from the ghosts and spirits that inhabit her building. Menghini had this to say about the clip and the horror it builds. It truly is spine-tingling.

“This scene was great fun to design. I was always struck by the image of the sobbing woman at the end of the corridor. Should Ambar approach or run away? With this film the aim is always to keep the audience on their toes – just when they think they know what’s going on, we want to throw a new element into the mix.”

No One Gets Out Alive hits Netflix on September 29th.

Watch: Chucky Goes To School In New Clip From Child’s Play TV Series

x

Chucky returns to our screens in just a few weeks for his very own self-titled TV series. The first small-screen spinoff of the Child’s Play franchise, Chucky promises to take the character back to basics, removing much of the campy humor from the later films and restoring the emphasis on horror. At the same time, it’s also reinventing the wheel a little and giving the series a teen-oriented slant. What the show is going for is effectively displayed in this first clip from the premiere episode, which is hitting Syfy in October.

The clip begins with introverted teen Jake (Zachary Arthur) as he’s tasked with dissecting a frog in class. Unfortunately for Jake, blood makes him squeamish — so it’s kind of awkward that he’s brought a Good Guy possessed by a serial killer to school with him. When Jake goes faint after making an incision into the frog’s abdomen, he puts the scalpel in front of the smiling Chucky doll. But when he looks back, he sees the scalpel impaled in the frog’s carcass which has now been gutted.

Though we don’t hear him speak in this sneak peek, Brad Dourif is once again returning as the voice of Charles Lee Ray. What’s more, he’s joined by various other franchise favorites including Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany Valentine, real-life daughter Fiona Dourif as Nica Pierce and Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay. Meanwhile, Final Destination‘s Devon Sawa is also in the cast in a dual role as Jake’s dad and his twin brother.

Once again, creator Don Mancini is behind the camera, writing and directing the pilot episode. He’s previously promised that Chucky will deliver all the scares and laughs fans will be hoping for, as well as offering up a deeper emotional core than they might be expecting through Jake’s storyline. Remember, we’ll also be getting Chucky’s childhood explored at last as we learn what turned him into a killer in the first place.

Chucky debuts on Syfy and USA Network on October 12th.

Watch: Night Teeth Trailer Teases Netflix’s Sexy Vampire Movie

x

This Halloween, Netflix is bringing the horror, as is promised in the lineup for films and tv coming to the streaming service this October. There are enough spooks, haunts, and vampire flicks to go around, and one of them is the new Netflix original, Night Teeth.

Night Teeth, coming to Netflix on October 20th, stars Debbie Ryan, Megan Fox, and Lucy Fry alongside Jorge Lendeborg Jr and Alfie Allen. The trailer shows the movie is going to be a sexy play on the whole vampires lurking in the shadows thing.

The plot synopsis, as reported by Bloody Disgusting, for the blood-bath is as follows.

“To earn some extra cash, quirky college student Benny (Lendeborg, Jr.) moonlights as a chauffeur for one night. His task: drive two mysterious young women (Ryan and Fry) around Los Angeles for a night of party hopping. Taken captive by his clients’ charm, he soon learns that his passengers have their own plans for him – and an insatiable thirst for blood. As his night spins out of control, Benny is thrust into the middle of a clandestine war that pits rival tribes of vampires against the protectors of the human world, led by his brother (Raúl Castillo), who will stop at nothing to send them back into the shadows. With sunrise fast approaching, Benny is forced to choose between fear and temptation if he wants to stay alive and save the City of Angels.”

The trailer starts with a scene where two girls who have hired Benny as their driver for the night. They ask Benny what he’d do if he knew it was his last night alive; Benny responds that he’s a simple guy, but it’s evident that simple isn’t exactly what these girls are known for.

They have a list of must-hit parties for the night before arriving at an important one before morning, and in addition to giving the girls a ride, Benny is in for a lot more than he bargained for. There are killer parties, blood-sucking hidden rooms, and a vampire cult that runs the city. So clearly not his average night on the job.

You can watch Night Teeth on Netflix this October, and while you wait, catch a slew of other spooky films and television leading up to the debut.

We’ve shared the video below, can you see He Who Must Not Be Named in the storm clouds? Or is it just the lingering outrage over J.K. Rowling’s recent alleged lawsuit?

Watch: Daniel Craig Gives Tearful Farewell Speech In No Time To Die Set Video

No Time To Die

The hype is through the roof for No Time to Die. Not only is it the first James Bond movie in six years and one that’s been delayed by about 18 months, but it also marks the very last time Daniel Craig will play 007. The Knives Out actor first appeared the legendary super-spy in 2006’s Casino Royale, meaning he’s the longest-running performer to play the part in the franchise’s 60-year history.

So it’s no surprise that Craig teared up upon making his farewell speech when No Time To Die wrapped production back in 2019. This emotional moment was shared in the documentary special Being James Bond, which is available to watch on Apple TV now. Filmthusiast also shared the clip on social media. Watch Craig’s speech via the tweet below:

In the clip, Craig speaks to the gathered crew while holding back tears as he remarks that many of the people who worked on NTTD also worked on the previous four Bond films he’s starred in.

“I know there’s a lot of things said about what I think about these films or all of those… whatever,” Craig said, “but I’ve loved every single second of these movies, and especially this one, because I’ve got up every morning and I’ve had the chance to work with you guys. And that’s been one of the greatest honors of my life.”

The star appears to be alluding to those old rumors that he was made to do a fifth film against his will, or at least only did it for the paycheck, but it’s clear from this video that saying goodbye to Bond and the friends and colleagues he made on these productions was a hugely emotional experience for Craig. And it’s hugely emotional for fans to see him leave the franchise behind, too, as he’s been the only Bond a whole generation has known.

Also featuring Rami Malek, Lea Seydoux, Lashana Lynch, Ana de Armas, and Christoph Waltz, No Time To Die finally hits theaters on October 6th in the US, following its debut in UK cinemas on September 30th. Pretty soon we should get the first reactions to the movie and we’ll find out whether it’s been worth the long, long wait.

The Internet Says This Forgotten Cowboy Bebop Fan Film Puts “Netflix To Shame”

While Netflix’s live-action remake of Cowboy Bebop isn’t even out yet, a lot of fans are already upset with some of its directorial decisions. Fans have criticized the casting for Fay Valentine and star John Cho is already afraid of how fans will react to the series once it is released.

It seems Cho’s fears might be correct. The internet is remembering a fan-made Cowboy Bebop film that was posted to YouTube all the way back in March. Recent comments from fans are all praising its quality with most of them complaining about the incoming Netflix adaptation.

So is it really all these fans say it is? Could it really be better than what Netflix will have to offer? Check out the video below and decide for yourself!

Watch: The Eerie Nightmare Alley Trailer Is Here

x

Guillermo del Toro is known for being a key component in the creation of the kind of films with staying power. From movies like Hellboy to The Shape Of Water, he knows what people want in a movie-going experience.

That sentiment is part of the reason fans are looking forward to his upcoming film, Nightmare Alley. With a stellar cast and enticing storyline, the movie is set up to be a thriller you won’t want to turn away from.

The trailer for the film dropped today and it is everything fans could have hoped for. It’s got a spooky element, charm and charisma, and an unsettling feeling that will undoubtedly stick with you. It’s got a dark element to it, which is the undertone for the film; manipulation and greed, charisma and charm…how far is too far?

Guillermo made sure to note that fans shouldn’t expect horror from the film in the traditional sense of the word. The scary in this movie will come from the uneasy sense of fear in trusting someone who manipulates as easily as they breathe.

The synopsis for the film is as follows.

“An ambitious young carny with a talent for manipulating people with a few well-chosen words hooks up with a female psychiatrist who is even more dangerous than he is.”

The movie packs a punch with the storyline and the all-star cast including Bradley Cooper, Cate Blanchett, Willem Defoe, and Rooney Mara to name a few. Their stories are highlighted in the teaser trailer and fans are already begging to know more.

Who will the master manipulator prove to be? We’ll just have to wait and see when the movie premieres. Fans can see Nightmare Alley in theaters on December 17th.

If you ask 90s horror fans to name some of their favorite slasher films of the decade, chances are, I Know What You Did Last Summer would make the list (next to Scream, of course) almost every single time. The movie focused on a group of friends who killed a man and are plagued with a series of murderously terrifying events.

A few images revealed by Deadline today show some of the turmoil the friends are feeling a year after the tragedy and the weight of the secret they kept.

Starring Brooke Bloom, Madison Iseman, Ashley Moore, Bill Heck, Brianne Tju, Fiona Rene, Ezekiel Goodman, Sebastian Amoruso, and Cassie Beck; the series is full of young star power.

Watch: Alice Joins The Bat-Team In Batwoman Season 3 Teaser

x

2021 has been a strange year for the Arrowverse as we’ve enjoyed a constant stream of content from the DC TV franchise. With Supergirl season 5 and Stargirl season 2 still ongoing, Batwoman is set to return next month for its third season, which promises that a lot is about to change in Gotham City. Case in point, the first teaser promo for season 3 is here and it tells us that Alice (Rachel Skarsen) is finally about to join the Bat-Team. Well, kind of. Check it out above.

Fans have been expecting Alice to make the switch from foe to friend for the longest time, and season 2 saw the anti-villain undertake a fascinating semi-redemption arc that was tied up with the discovery that her sister Kate Kane (Wallis Day) was still alive. Not that she’s exactly jumping for joy about working with the good guys, though. This teaser reveals that Ryan Wilder (Javicia Leslie), Luke Fox (Camrus Johnson), and Mary Hamilton (Nicole Kang) get Alice out of jail to help them locate the missing Batman villain trophies that were released back into the wild in the season 2 finale.

We know to expect that these dangerous items – such as Penguin’s umbrella and the Mad Hatter’s hat – being out there will mean the introduction of some iconic villains into the Arrowverse. For one, Agent Carter‘s Bridget Regan has been announced to be joining the cast as Poison Ivy, with the former botanist turned femme fatale being revived years after her initial reign of terror on the city.

Other newcomers include Robin Givens as Jada Jet, who fans think might turn out to be Ryan’s biological mother, and Victoria Cartagena as former GCPD detective Renee Montoya, a role the actress previously played on Fox’s Gotham.

Don’t miss Batwoman when it premieres its third season on The CW in exactly a month’s time on October 15th.

I hate the fact that this show has a black woman in the lead role. This woke BS has gone too far.

indeed.

Ok lil hypocrite

Waiting for them to drop Javicia Leslie until there, not watching.
