Sony has just officially confirmed that their still untitled animated Spider-Man feature will revolve around Miles Morales, not Peter Parker. The announcement was made during a presentation in LA today, where the studio also debuted some test footage and concept art.
Plus, though Bob Persichetti is still set to helm the picture, Peter Ramsey (Rise of the Guardians) has now come on board to co-direct. It's also been confirmed that this will be a standalone project, and won't be set in the same continuity as the main MCU films.
Written by Phil Lord and executive produced by Lord and Chris Miller, the animated Spider-Man movie is due to open December 21, 2018.
