Watch: Netflix Releases First Official Trailer Live-Action Cowboy Bebop

x

Netflix finally released an official trailer for the upcoming live-action adaptation of the classic anime Cowboy Bebop this week following last week’s lost session teaser and the title sequence that debuted during Netflix’s global fan event #TUDUM last month.

The new trailer, which is available to view above, is the first look at the storylines and episodes the new series will adapt from the classic and critically acclaimed anime. We also get a small look at Spike Spiegel’s storied past alongside a taste of the epic action scenes to come.

Series showrunner Andre Nemec recently said the show will be an expansion of the Cowboy Bebop canon rather than a beat-for-beat adaptation and early images from the series have fans buzzing.

The original Cowboy Bebop anime, which aired in 1998, is widely considered to be one of the best anime of all time and served as an entry point into anime for many Americans at the time. Like the anime before it, the new series will follow the adventures of a crew of bounty hunters including Spike Spiegel (John Cho), Faye Valentine (Daniella Pineda), and Jet Black (Mustafa Shakir).

All episodes of the Cowboy Bebop adaptation are set to begin streaming on Netflix starting Nov. 19.

With the news of an upcoming thriller, Resident Evil: Welcome to Raccoon City, came cautiously optimistic fans. While not everyone has loved the Resident Evil films’ last installments, they can rest assured that those attached to the new movie have been paying attention.

As reported by Deadline, Welcome to Raccoon City gives filmmaker and director Johannes Roberts the chance to “go back to the original first two games.” At the same time, he allows audiences to experience the intense and terrifying reactions he had while playing them for the same time. He also hopes to bring together a story about a dying town that “feels relatable.”

Roberts said this about who Redfield is and what her mission is in this movie; it’s an important one.

Claire Redfield is a runaway from Racoon City. She’s run away because she feels like something is very wrong there and now she’s coming back to tell her brother some very important information.

Scodelario shares her love for Redfield during her character featurette, not just in words but by the look of pride and awe on her face. Fans can tell she truly loves becoming Redfield and being part of the Resident Evil realm.

“Claire is a rounded character, she has her own journey, she isn’t just there to shoot gun. I love how rebellious she is. She’s an absolute badass.”

The official synopsis for the film is as follows:

“Returning to the terrifying roots of the massively popular franchise, fan and filmmaker Johannes Roberts brings the games of the billion-dollar franchise and the most successful video game adaptation in history to life for a whole new generation of fans. Once the booming home of pharmaceutical giant Umbrella Corporation, Raccoon City is now a dying Midwestern town. The company’s exodus left the city a wasteland…with great evil brewing below the surface. When that evil is unleashed, the townspeople are forever…changed…and a small group of survivors must work together to uncover the truth behind Umbrella and make it through the night.”

Fans can see Resident Evil: Welcome to Racoon City in theaters on November 24th, 2021.

Watch: Ghostbusters Afterlife Exclusive Clip From Hasbro Pulse Con

x

In the forthcoming Ghostbusters: Afterlife, we’ll finally get to see the famous proton pack from the ’80s films be passed down to the next generation.

And in an exclusive clip of the film from Hasbro Pulse Con 2021 that was released today, we see McKenna Grace’s Phoebe wield the powerful weapon for the first time after discovering the device on the property once owned by her grandfather, Harold Ramis’ Egon Spengler.

Hasbro Pulse’s official Twitter account even teased a few days ago that the clip would be shown at today’s con. The clip has now made its way online after premiering at the event.

It’s a decidedly thrilling moment when Phoebe fires up the pack then launches a proton beam at an apparent log in a field, causing it to catch fire and explode.

For those of us who grew up with the original Ghostbusters and its memorable toys, including pretend proton packs and ghost traps, we can’t help but be swept up in the nostalgia of traversing around our neighborhood, decked out in the signature jumpsuits, trying to capture some specters.

In a recently released trailer, we got more details as to the plot, including mini Stay-Puft Marshmallow Men wreaking mayhem in a department store and riding a Roomba, the hellhound-like Zuul chasing around Paul Rudd also in a store, and the children confronting a Slimer-Esque looking ghost on a fire hydrant.

We’re excited to see how Ghostbusters: Afterlife brings the thrills and laughs when it haunts theaters on November 18th, 2021.

Watch: Netflix Reveals First Trailer For Mark Millar’s Super Crooks Anime Series

x

Despite Jupiter’s Legacy being cancelled after just one season, Netflix is pressing ahead with its expansion of the Millarverse, following its acquisition of Marvel’s Millarworld imprint back in 2017. Next up is anime series Super Crooks, as based on the comic books by Mark Millar and Leinil Francis Yu. With that premiering next month, the streaming giant has now unveiled its first-look trailer for the show, which you can catch above.

Like a blend of the superhero genre, anime, and Money Heist, Super Crooks follows small-time crook Johnny Bolt as he assembles a crack team of eight supervillains — including The Heat, The Gladiator, and The Ghost — to help him perform one last heist before he retires. Like the trailer says, just because you’ve got superpowers, that doesn’t necessarily make you a superhero.

Netflix has also revealed the full cast lists for both the Japanese and English dubs of the 13-episode season. Here’s the Japanese cast:

  • Kenjiro Tsuda as Johnny Bolt
  • Maaya Sakamoto as Kasey
  • Hiroshi Yanaka as Christopher Matts
  • Yasuji Kimura as Carmine (The Heat)
  • Pierre Taki as The Gladiator
  • Junichi Suwabe as Josh (The Ghost)
  • Hisao Egawa as The Salamander
  • Eiji Takemoto as TK McCabe
  • Subaru Kimura as Sammy Diesel
  • Tetsu Inada as Roddy Diesel
  • Wataru Hatano as the Praetorian
  • KENN as Forecast

And here’s the cast for the English voice dub:

  • Jonah Scott as Johnny Bolt
  • Abby Trott as Kasey Ann
  • Jason Marnocha as The Bastard
  • Doug Stone as Carmine / The Heat
  • Beau Billingslea as The Gladiator
  • Bill Butts as Josh / The Ghost
  • Bill Rogers as TK McCabe
  • Bruno Oliver as Roddy Diesel
  • Ben Pronsky as Sammy Diesel
  • D. C. Douglas as The Praetorian
  • Zeno Robinson as Forecast

From showrunner Dai Sato (Cowboy Bebop, Ghost in the Shell), Super Crooks is pitched as a prequel to the original comics, with the final episodes of the season overlapping with the source material. Netflix clearly has big hopes for the Super Crooks franchise as they announced back in June that a live-action series also based on the comics is in the works. The live-action show will go by Supercrooks, the same title as the original comic book.

Other Millarworld projects in various stages of development include TV series for The Magic Order, American Jesus and Reborn as well as movies for Empress, Huck and Sharkey the Bounty Hunter. The universe of Jupiter’s Legacy will also be returned to in some form in the future, it’s been confirmed.

But for now, make sure to catch Super Crooks when it debuts on Netflix in just over a month’s time on November 25th.
