Watch: Two Spine-Tingling Clips From Netflix’s No One Gets Out Alive

The spookiest time of the year is upon us, and everyone is binging horror classics, diving into new terrifying film and tv series, and surrounding themselves with the type of entertainment that makes it hard to sleep at night. The ghouls and goblins, witches, and even the crazed killers are making their way back to the forefront of the pop culture realm.

Many streaming services have already released their fun and frightening lineups for the Halloween season, and one of those is Netflix. With an impressive array of old favorites and new releases, fans won’t have to skimp on the spooky factor this year.

One of those is the upcoming film; No One Gets Out Alive, coming to Netflix on September 29th. The synopsis for the film, provided by Netflix, is as follows.

Desperate and without documentation, a woman from Mexico moves into a rundown Cleveland boardinghouse. Then the unsettling cries and eerie visions begin.

The film stars Cristina Rodlo, Marc Menchaca, David Figlioli and is based on a novel, of the same name, by horror writer Adam Nevill. The novel description gives more detail into what the young woman’s life will look like in the Netflix horror film.

As the tenant experiences life in the boardinghouse, strange occurrences and visions plague her and she suddenly realizes that the life she tried to escape from might have been a lesser evil compared to what she’s found. It’s a supernatural-horror book, and the Netflix film will follow suit, so it won’t be an easy watch for those who are genuinely spooked by the idea of ghosts and supernatural frights.

Bloody Disgusting premiered two clips from the upcoming film today. Santiago Menghini, director of the film, shared information about each clip with BD, and of the first, the shower scene, Menghini had this to say about what he was hoping to accomplish.

“In this scene, Ambar is beginning to understand that all is not what it seems in this house… that the bumps and creaks she hears in the night might not just be expanding pipes. They might be screams…I wanted to play with the use of sound to build mystery and dread. Uncertainty feeds anxiety. From this point on, it is clear something is terribly wrong with this house.”

In an additional scene, Amber is faced with a fear different from the ghosts and spirits that inhabit her building. Menghini had this to say about the clip and the horror it builds. It truly is spine-tingling.

“This scene was great fun to design. I was always struck by the image of the sobbing woman at the end of the corridor. Should Ambar approach or run away? With this film the aim is always to keep the audience on their toes – just when they think they know what’s going on, we want to throw a new element into the mix.”

No One Gets Out Alive hits Netflix on September 29th.

Watch: Chucky Goes To School In New Clip From Child’s Play TV Series

Chucky returns to our screens in just a few weeks for his very own self-titled TV series. The first small-screen spinoff of the Child’s Play franchise, Chucky promises to take the character back to basics, removing much of the campy humor from the later films and restoring the emphasis on horror. At the same time, it’s also reinventing the wheel a little and giving the series a teen-oriented slant. What the show is going for is effectively displayed in this first clip from the premiere episode, which is hitting Syfy in October.

The clip begins with introverted teen Jake (Zachary Arthur) as he’s tasked with dissecting a frog in class. Unfortunately for Jake, blood makes him squeamish — so it’s kind of awkward that he’s brought a Good Guy possessed by a serial killer to school with him. When Jake goes faint after making an incision into the frog’s abdomen, he puts the scalpel in front of the smiling Chucky doll. But when he looks back, he sees the scalpel impaled in the frog’s carcass which has now been gutted.

Though we don’t hear him speak in this sneak peek, Brad Dourif is once again returning as the voice of Charles Lee Ray. What’s more, he’s joined by various other franchise favorites including Jennifer Tilly as Tiffany Valentine, real-life daughter Fiona Dourif as Nica Pierce and Alex Vincent as Andy Barclay. Meanwhile, Final Destination‘s Devon Sawa is also in the cast in a dual role as Jake’s dad and his twin brother.

Once again, creator Don Mancini is behind the camera, writing and directing the pilot episode. He’s previously promised that Chucky will deliver all the scares and laughs fans will be hoping for, as well as offering up a deeper emotional core than they might be expecting through Jake’s storyline. Remember, we’ll also be getting Chucky’s childhood explored at last as we learn what turned him into a killer in the first place.

Chucky debuts on Syfy and USA Network on October 12th.

Watch: Night Teeth Trailer Teases Netflix’s Sexy Vampire Movie

x

This Halloween, Netflix is bringing the horror, as is promised in the lineup for films and tv coming to the streaming service this October. There are enough spooks, haunts, and vampire flicks to go around, and one of them is the new Netflix original, Night Teeth.

Night Teeth, coming to Netflix on October 20th, stars Debbie Ryan, Megan Fox, and Lucy Fry alongside Jorge Lendeborg Jr and Alfie Allen. The trailer shows the movie is going to be a sexy play on the whole vampires lurking in the shadows thing.

The plot synopsis, as reported by Bloody Disgusting, for the blood-bath is as follows.

“To earn some extra cash, quirky college student Benny (Lendeborg, Jr.) moonlights as a chauffeur for one night. His task: drive two mysterious young women (Ryan and Fry) around Los Angeles for a night of party hopping. Taken captive by his clients’ charm, he soon learns that his passengers have their own plans for him – and an insatiable thirst for blood. As his night spins out of control, Benny is thrust into the middle of a clandestine war that pits rival tribes of vampires against the protectors of the human world, led by his brother (Raúl Castillo), who will stop at nothing to send them back into the shadows. With sunrise fast approaching, Benny is forced to choose between fear and temptation if he wants to stay alive and save the City of Angels.”

The trailer starts with a scene where two girls who have hired Benny as their driver for the night. They ask Benny what he’d do if he knew it was his last night alive; Benny responds that he’s a simple guy, but it’s evident that simple isn’t exactly what these girls are known for.

They have a list of must-hit parties for the night before arriving at an important one before morning, and in addition to giving the girls a ride, Benny is in for a lot more than he bargained for. There are killer parties, blood-sucking hidden rooms, and a vampire cult that runs the city. So clearly not his average night on the job.

You can watch Night Teeth on Netflix this October, and while you wait, catch a slew of other spooky films and television leading up to the debut.
