A new trailer for Chapelwaite, the EPIX original show based on Stephen King’s Jerusalem’s Lot, just dropped. And it promises to give fans of the macabre a new horrifying story to enjoy.

Chapelwaite takes viewers to the Preacher’s Corners, Maine in the 1850s. Academy Award winner Adrien Brody stars as Captain Charles Boone, who brings his family to his ancestral home. Unfortunately, Boone’s wife dies at sea, which is only the beginning of his troubles.

Brody stars alongside Emily Hampshire, who recently starred in Schitt’s Creek.

Jerusalem’s Lot is a prequel to Salem’s Lot, another iconic story from the dark mind of Stephen King. Fans can expect the terrifying environment and storytelling King’s work is known for as Boone fights to protect his family. The tale was first published in 1978 as a short story in King’s Night Shift collection. Salem’s Lot, the sequel to Jerusalem’s Lot, is reportedly one of King’s favorite books, and fans can visit the iconic location years before the novel takes place.

Chapelwaite was initially intended to start filming in March 2020, but the COVID-19 Pandemic postponed filming until July 2020. Filming took place in Halifax, Nova Scotia, providing an excellent background for the dark story.

Chapelwaite premieres on EPIX on Aug 22.

The Dark Passenger is waiting… After originally ending in 2013, Dexter is back on our screens this fall as Michael C. Hall returns to his most famous role to check in on everyone’s favorite serial killer eight years later. The hype is high that the revival will manage to undo the damage inflicted on the Showtime show’s reputation by season 8, and what we’ve seen of the limited series so far has got our hopes up.

A new teaser trailer has now arrived thanks to the Dexter panel at [email protected] this weekend, which gives us our best look yet at what’s Dexter’s up to these days. Picking up a decade after Dexter went to ground in the original series finale, we’ll pick up with him living under an alias in Iron Lake, a sleepy upstate New York town. But try as he might to hide his dark past, as the trailer says, he can’t run from it forever.

The trailer reveals a brief glimpse at Clancy Brown as Kurt Caldwell, who’s been described as the “unofficial mayor” of Iron Lake who has some murky secrets of his own which will no doubt put him in conflict with Dexter. Other newcomers to the cast including Julia Jones as police chief Angela Jones, Alano Miller as police sergeant Logan and Johnny Sequoyah as Bishop’s daughter Audrey.

Though they aren’t featured in this promo, it’s been confirmed that two fan favorites from the original run will be returning alongside Hall for this revival – namely, John Lithgow as the Trinity Killer and Jennifer Carpenter as Debra Morgan. As fans know, both these characters are dead, so we’d expect them to appear via hallucinations, much like Dexter’s dad Harry did in past seasons. Actor James Remar has confirmed he’s not involved in season 9.

The Dexter revival is set to kick off its 10-episode run on Showtime this November 7th.

Watch: Star Trek: Prodigy Trailer Teases Janeway’s Return

Star Trek: Prodigy

Following the comedic, 2D-animated Lower Decks, Star Trek is going boldly into a new medium with Star Trek: Prodigy, a CG-animated series aimed at a younger generation of fans. Not that older fans will be left out in the cold, though, as the show is also set to feature the return of Kate Mulgrew as Captain Kathryn Janeway for the first time since Voyager ended 20 years ago. And you can get a preview of her comeback in this first teaser for the incoming show.

This trailer was revealed as part of the Star Trek block at today’s [email protected] virtual programming. The Prodigy panel was attended by the cast and creators Kevin and Dan Hageman (Trollhunters). Though this promo doesn’t reveal an exact release date, it does tell us to expect it to debut on Paramount Plus sometime this fall. Check it out below:

Prodigy follows a group of lawless teens who discover a derelict Starfleet ship and use it to take off into the stars in search of adventure, meaning and salvation. As the first Trek protagonists to not be affiliated with the interplanetary organization, the kids will come to learn more about Starfleet and what it stands for over time, thanks to the presence of Janeway’s hologram on board the ship.

Brett Gray stars as leader Dal (unknown species), Ella Purnell is Gwyn (Vau N’Akat), Angus Imrie is Zero (Medusan), Rylee Alazraqui is Rok-Tahk (Brikar), Dee Bradley Baker is Murf (adorable blob thing) and Jason Mantzoukas is Jankom Pog (Tellarite). Though originally intended to land on Nickelodeon, it was rerouted to a streaming release when Paramount Plus launched earlier this year and made the fact that it’s the hub for all Trek a major part of its marketing.

Don’t miss the 10-episode first season of Star Trek: Prodigy when it debuts sometime later this year. It will then air on Nickelodeon at some point before season 2 – which is already in the works – arrives.
