Watch: It’s All Going Down In Gotham In Titans Season 3 Trailer

x

It’s all going down in Gotham in this epic first trailer for Titans season 3. which debuts on HBO Max in just under a month’s time. This third run of the former DC Universe show will dive deeper into the Batman mythos than ever before, and this trailer debuts our first looks at a number of the Dark Knight’s allies and enemies in action. Check it out via the player above.

The trailer teases that the new season will kick off with the apparent death of Jason Todd (Curran Walters) and the rise of a mysterious new masked vigilante, Red Hood – what are the odds those two facts are connected, huh? The team will then relocate to Gotham, with Dick Grayson (Brenton Thwaites) partnering up with his old friend Barbara Gordon (Savannah Welch), who’s now police commissioner. This promo also offers us glimpses of Scarecrow (Vincent Kartheiser) and the latest sidekick to Bruce Wayne (Iain Glen) – the third Robin, Tim Drake (Jay Lycurgo).

Away from the Bat-side of things, the rest of the Titans – namely, Beast Boy (Ryan Potter), Raven (Teagan Croft), Superboy (Joshua Orpin), Hawk (Alan Ritchson) and Dove (Minka Kelly) – are showcased doing what they do best. Then there’s Starfire (Anna Diop), who seems to be having problems of her own, something no doubt the fault of her evil sister Blackfire (Damaris Lewis).

All in all, this promises to be the most thrilling season of Titans yet, as the show brings even more classic DC characters into its universe. Of course, this wouldn’t be Titans without some controversy, though, and fans are no doubt going to have some thoughts about the claims that Bruce is a “psychopath” at the top of this trailer. A broken Bruce seems ready to hand the mantle of Batman onto Dick – but will Nightwing accept it? Or will he help his mentor get his groove back?

Don’t miss Titans season 3 when it premieres August 12th only on HBO Max

Watch: The Nightmare Ends In Fear Street Part 3: 1666 Trailer

x

The Fear Street trilogy has proven to be a phenomenal success for Netflix. Subscribers of all ages have loved the horror movie series, which is halfway between a TV show and a movie franchise, with the first two installments drawing in both huge audiences and a lot of social media attention over the past couple of weeks. The third is about to drop in time for this weekend, and this trailer promises a grand finale to the saga of Shadyside. Check out the Fear Street Part 3: 1666 promo via the player above.

“We can end the curse,” says Kiana Madeira’s Deena in this trailer, and to do that she must flashback 300 years into the past and discover the truth behind a witch hunt that started the evil plaguing Shadyside in the present. Or, as the official synopsis puts it, “The origins of Sarah Fier’s curse are finally revealed as history comes full circle on a night that changes the lives of Shadysiders forever.” Gillian Jacobs, Sadie Sink, Benjamin Flores Jr. and Ashley Zukerman are also in the cast.

Fear Street

A big part of what has made Fear Street so much fun, particularly for horror fans, is how each chapter sports such a unique feel, with the different movies pulling from a range of influences. Part 1: 1994 was Scream-inspired, while Part 2: 1978 tipped its hat to Friday the 13th. This time around, we’re in The Witch territory. Director Leigh Janiak and his team have done a commendable job of transforming R.L. Stine’s teen book trilogy into something with a lot more oomph.

Given the success of Fear Street, it seems a safe bet to assume Netflix will get working on some similar productions ASAP, maybe even more Stine adaptations. For the moment, don’t miss Fear Street Part 3: 1666 when it debuts on the streamer this Friday, July 16th. And if you haven’t caught up yet, catch the first two films on Netflix now.

Watch: Loki Promo Teases Big Changes Coming To The MCU

x

While the WandaVision and The Falcon and the Winter Soldier finales had great entertainment value, they were generally met with a bit of a mixed reception for fans as some seemed to think they didn’t quite live up to the high hype and intense fan theories that had built up over the preceding weeks. You might think we should keep our expectations in check for the Loki finale, then, which drops on Disney Plus this Wednesday.

But that’s not what this new promo – which you can catch via the player above – indicates. According to this new trailer, hike up those expectations as high as possible, people, as the finale will apparently “change everything we know about the Marvel Cinematic Universe”. Yes, that is exactly what the dramatic voiceover guy says in this latest teaser for tomorrow’s finale. As per D+’s tradition of keeping spoilers to a minimum, it doesn’t feature any fresh footage but that bold claim has got us excited all the same.

So what does it mean that Loki changes our understanding of the MCU? Well, this will only further fuel those theories that the finale will set up the deep-dive into the multiverse that is to come in first Spider-Man: No Way Home this December and then Doctor Strange 2 next March. Fans are also confident that Kang the Conqueror, thought to be the franchise’s next big bad, is going to be revealed as the true creator of the TVA. But, who knows, maybe neither of these theories are right. Maybe the finale will reveal that Miss Minutes is the MCU’s next Thanos. You heard it here first.

The good news is there’s not long left to wait until we get to find out what this promo’s voiceover guy is talking about. Loki concludes with what we can hope will be a fitting finale on Disney Plus this Wednesday.

Watch: The Suicide Squad Celebrates Shark Week With New King Shark Promo

The Suicide Squad King Shark

Shark Week is a recognized global phenomenon, having become the longest-running cable TV programming event in history since first launching in 1988, and it’s gotten to the stage where mega budget comic book blockbusters are now paying tribute to Discovery’s beloved festivities, as evidenced by the latest teaser for The Suicide Squad.

Creator Tom Golden would never in a million years have imagined that 33 years on from the first-ever Shark Week, it would be used as the basis for a promo video showcasing the fact that Sylvester Stallone is voicing an anthropomorphized Elasmobranchii descended from an ancient shark god with a taste for human flesh in a violent R-rated action extravaganza from the mind of Guardians of the Galaxy‘s James Gunn, which you can check out below.

When Stallone was first announced to have boarded The Suicide Squad very late on in production, King Shark was always named as the most likely character for the actor, based on nothing more than his instantly recognizable vocal delivery. The first trailer for the soft reboot highlighted King Shark to the extent that he could well turn out to be the true breakout favorite in a movie that looks to be packed with instant cult favorites.

While it seems unlikely that King Shark will be making it out of The Suicide Squad alive given James Gunn’s insistence that almost everyone is going to die before the credits roll, the very thought of Rocky and Rambo legend Stallone playing Nanaue is more than enough to ensure that he’s going to be one of the main talking points coming out of the film, which is just a little over three weeks away from coming to theaters and HBO Max on August 5th.

Watch: The White Wolf Returns In The Witcher Season 2 Trailer

x

It’s been nearly two years since The Witcher premiered to high praise on Netflix, and we now finally have our first look at season 2 of the fantasy show hot off the presses and straight out of WitcherCon.

The first ever WitcherCon was full of exciting announcements about the series as well as the game franchise, but the trailer was the show’s big kicker. As one might expect, it has a heavy focus on Geralt and Ciri, two of the show’s main characters. Season 1 left off with Geralt finally reaching Siri and embracing the girl in the woods. “So, I’m your destiny?” Ciri says at the beginning, to which Geralt answers “You’re much more than that, Cirilla.”

The first season took an interesting approach to the storytelling of Andrzej Sapkowski’s books, jumping back and forth between different eras in the timeline of the plot. Many viewers complained about this, saying that it was confusing at times. Season 2 looks to be following a much more straightforward approach.

The trailer ends with the reveal that Yennefer is indeed still alive after basically fire-bombing Nilfgaardian soldiers at Sodden Hill in the final episode of season 1. The powerful sorceress is looking a little rough, though, so her storyline will almost certainly be one to follow in the new incarnation of the show.

The wait for season two has been long, especially after COVID forced shooting delays last year. But the Netflix series is sure to expand on the first season with even more monsters, magic, sexiness, and a lot more of Henry Cavill’s astoundingly straight jawline than fans can handle.

Season two of The Witcher premieres on Netflix in its entirety at the end of this year on December 17.

Watch: No Man Of God Trailer Teases A New Spin On The Ted Bundy Story

x

As strange as it sounds, the Ted Bundy business has been booming recently. Since the beginning of 2019 alone, we’ve seen Zac Efron give a career-best performance as the infamous serial killer in Extremely Wicked, Shockingly Evil and Vile, and there’s another two spins on the Bundy story coming this year through American Boogeyman and No Man of God.

Chad Michael Murray portrays the killer in the former, which is coming to VOD next month, but No Man of God is getting out of the gate first having already screened for critics. Luke Kirby, who won an Emmy for his supporting turn in Amazon’s awards season favorite The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, gets into the mindset of Bundy as he faces execution and strikes up an unlikely rapport with Elijah Wood’s Bill Hagmaier.

No Man of God

No Man of God isn’t releasing until August 27th, but the early reviews have been encouraging, with the crime drama currently sitting on a solid Rotten Tomatoes score of 76%. Wood is a very underrated dramatic actor that excels when he plays the sort of parts you wouldn’t typically expect to see him inhabit, and his wide-eyed mix of stoicism and unease looks to play well against the unnerving charisma of Kirby’s Bundy.

Amber Sealey directs from a script by Doctor Strange and Sinister scribe C. Robert Cargill, and the filmmaker revealed that she struck up a friendship with the real-life Hagmaier, the FBI agent credited with convincing Bundy to come clean about the extent of his crimes while awaiting the death penalty, so No Man of God could offer an insight into their exchanges that other projects of a similar ilk could not. After three feature films and two docuseries in the space of two years, it’ll take a lot to stand out from the Bundy back, but the trailer looks hugely promising.

Watch: Chapelwaite Trailer Teases A Creepy New Stephen King Series

x

The industry’s Stephen King obsession is still in full effect, and there’s only going to be more adaptations of the horror icon’s work than ever before thanks to the advent and unstoppable rise of the streaming service. We’re getting dozens upon dozens of movies and TV shows across the theatrical, cable, network and streaming roster looking at the sheer volume of titles in development, with Epix’s Chapelwaite up next.

The ten-episode series is an interpretation of King’s 1978 short story Jerusalem’s Lot, and as you may have inferred from the title, it is indeed a prequel of sorts to Salem’s Lot, which in itself is getting a remake that’s reportedly eying Jake Gyllenhaal and Christoph Waltz for the two lead roles, and if you’re familiar with the premise then you may have an idea of where Chapelwaite may or may not be heading.

Academy Award winner Adrien Brody headlines the cast as Captain Charles Boone, who decides to relocate his family to the quiet town of Preacher’s Corners, which is of course in King’s home state of Maine. Grieving for the death of his wife at sea, Charles soon discovers that moving into his ancestral home may not have been the wisest move, forcing him to reckon with the secrets and revelations of both his past and that of the Boone clan at large.

Chapelwaite

Modern horror doesn’t tend to veer into the Gothic all that often, which should ensure that Chapelwaite marks a change of pace from the typical Stephen King stories that tend to simply slap a supernatural or mystical element onto an everyday setting. His career may not have reached the heights predicted for it two decades ago, but Brody remains a phenomenal actor if he’s handed strong enough material, with the chilling tale of a troubled family set to present him with what could be his meatiest role in a long time.

If you enjoyed the trailer, then the bad news is that Chapelwaite doesn’t premiere on Epix until August 22nd, but the good news is that it also means we should be getting at least one more full-length promo between now and then.

Watch: Marvel’s What If…? Trailer Teases A New Iron Man

x

Sad that there’s only one episode left to go of Loki? Don’t be, as your next Marvel TV obsession is right around the corner. In just over a month’s time, arguably the most unique Marvel Studios production released so far debuts on Disney Plus. It’s Marvel’s What If…?, the animated anthology series that will check in on a different reality each episode. This Thursday, Disney finally dropped the first trailer for the show, which features numerous familiar faces in fresh contexts. Check it out via the player above.

The trailer begins with a scene that mirrors how the MCU kicked off back in 2008’s Iron Man – but this time, Tony Stark is rescued in the desert by Killmonger! Other alternate worlds glimpsed in the promo include one where T’Challa has become Star-Lord, Peggy Carter is Captain Britain, the Guardians defeated Loki in the Battle of New York and even one where the Avengers are all zombies, a la the Marvel Zombies universe.

In most cases, the show will see the cast of the MCU reprising their roles, with the likes of Chris Hemsworth, Benedict Cumberbatch, Michael B. Jordan, Hayley Atwell, Michael Rooker and the much-missed Chadwick Boseman heard in this trailer. Unfortunately, despite fans hoping otherwise, Robert Downey Jr. will not be returning as Iron Man, with a different performer voicing the character. Elsewhere, Westworld‘s Jeffrey Wright will be joining the franchise as The Watcher, who will be narrating each episode.

The trailer dropped alongside the first poster for the series, which you can find in the gallery above. It showcases even more alt-heroes, including Gamora in Thanos’ armor, a victorious Ultron and… wait, is that Spider-Man as the Sorcerer Supreme?

From director Bryan Matthews and showrunner A.C. Bradley, Marvel’s What If…? kicks off its 10-episode first season – a second is already on the way – on Wednesday, August 11th. In the meantime, don’t miss Black Widow in theaters this weekend and the Loki finale next week.

Watch: New Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness Trailer Shows Leon In Action

x

Netflix has released a new trailer for Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness ahead of the show’s release later this week, this time with attention focused squarely on Raccoon City survivor Leon S. Kennedy. The former police officer, now an agent and bodyguard hired tasked with protecting the US president at all costs, is faced with yet another nightmare mere years following his detour in rural Spain, this time in the form of a terrorist attack on the White House.

Joined by several colleagues, Leon, something of an expert you might say, on the topic of undead assailants, once again comes face to face with an army of walking corpses during the events of Infinite Darkness, introducing himself in today’s trailer shortly after saving the life of another security guard. Proceeding on foot to the Oval Office, he and the remaining staff escort the country’s leader to the safety of a bunker before departing to sweep the building for any further intruders.

Unsurprisingly, the footage offers absolutely no insight on the individual responsible for this outbreak or, for that matter, what their motives are, though it’s safe to say that discovering the truth will be no easy task. Elsewhere, Claire Redfield will be performing her own investigation into suspicious activities, with both heroes, last seen together during the events of Resident Evil 2, likely to reunite as a means of combating this new threat to civilian life.

Resident Evil: Infinite Darkness releases tomorrow, July 8th, and is due to be followed later in the year with two live-action productions based on the franchise, one a feature-length reboot; the other an episodic series once again produced by Netflix. See here for all the latest announcements concerning the latter.
