WESTWORLD Star Luke Hemsworth Is Keen To Join The Marvel Cinematic Universe As Wolverine

With The New Mutants finally heading to Blu-ray, the final chapter of Fox’s X-Men Universe has been told, and Marvel Studios can now focus on rebooting the franchise. They’ll need a new Wolverine for that, of course, and Westworld star Luke Hemsworth is keen to take a crack at the clawed mutant.

Talking to Screen Rant, the brother of the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Thor made it clear that it’s a role he thinks he would be a good fit for.

“I would love to,” Hemsworth admitted, making it clear he’s a big comic book fan. “I grew up with them. I learned to draw through comic books, copying comic books since I was about 10 years old. Spawn was a big one for; I really loved Todd McFarlane’s Spawn. And then Batman – I would have fought Rob Pattinson for those gauntlets.”

“And Wolverine!” he added. “I’m like, ‘Come on, just pass them on, mate. Let’s give it to another Aussie.’ I’ll have to grow some chest hair, but I’m ready for Wolverine.”

It’s not hard to picture the actor as a weathered version of the X-Men stalwart, and Hemsworth is no stranger to the MCU after making a memorable cameo appearance as Thor in the play “Odin” was watching in Thor: Ragnarok.

Do you guys think the Westworld star would be a good fit for Wolverine?

AMAZING SPIDER-MAN #850 Drops Another Big Hint About Kindred’s Real Identity – SPOILERS

Image

Amazing Spider-Man #850 is well worth picking up, though some fans may be disappointed that Kindred’s identity isn’t revealed. After the wall-crawler is forced to team up with the Green Goblin (Norman Osborn takes the Goblin Serum again near the start of the issue), he throws the villain to the mercy of the Sin-Eater after he repeatedly threatens Spider-Gwen.

In an epilogue, it’s strongly hinted that Kindred is someone from Spider-Man’s life who has died.

As you can see below, he stands in front of a grave, but we never learn who that belongs to. One of the most popular theories is that Kindred is Harry Osborn, and that the Harry who returned from the dead is a clone or something along those lines. That would explain his hatred of Peter and Norman, though it is still possible this is the pre-One More Day Peter Parker.

Why would he be looking at a grave? Well, it could be Gwen Stacy’s, with this a misdirect of sorts to throw us off the scent. Either way, it’s definitely a shame that Amazing Spider-Man #850 failed to reveal the villain’s identity, though we can only hope that changes with next week’s issue.

What did you guys think about Nick Spencer’s landmark issue?

STAR WARS Sequel Actress Kelly Marie Tran Is Open To Returning As Rose Tico If It’s “The Right Story”

Image

Star Wars: The Last Jedi was a divisive movie, and for whatever reason, fans vented their frustrations on actress Kelly Marie Tran. There was nothing really wrong with Rose Tico as a character, but in a bid to pander to those same “fans,” J.J. Abrams completely sidelined the Resistance hero in The Rise of Skywalker

That also generated some backlash, and it was last December that Crazy Rich Asians director Jon M. Chu mentioned that he would love to give Rose her own Disney+ series.

When Collider mentioned that to Tran, she responded: “He’s so cool. I don’t know. I honestly don’t know. It’s so strange. I had so much fun being in that world but I feel like the pieces would have to fall into a perfect little puzzle and everything would have to feel like it’s the right time and the right moment and the right story, like with any other project. But I don’t know.”

The site noted that Rose is a character who has more story to tell, a sentiment that Tran agrees with. “Yeah, absolutely. Absolutely. I think there are a lot of characters in that universe that we have yet to hear enough about.”

Clearly, she’s undecided about a return, and as of right now, it seems doubtful that Lucasfilm will return to that era in Star Wars history. It’s possible Tran might be able to reprise the role in an animated series or something similar, but our best bet right now is that she returns in a novel or comic book.

What do you guys think?
