BILL & TED Meet The Daughter Of George Carlin’s Rufus In First FACE THE MUSIC Clip

Image

Bill and Ted Face the Music was set to be released in theaters and VOD on the same day this September 1, but it was recently announced that the lovable metal-heads’ latest adventure had been moved up by one week, and will come our way on August 28 – the same day The New Mutants is expected to hit theaters.

Orion Pictures has now sent us over the first clip from the movie, and it introduces the daughter of Bill and Ted’s time-travelling pal Rufus (the late George Carlin). Kelly (Kristen Schaal) drops in on the boys to take them into the future to address a “potentially a very serious problem” while their daughters Billie (Brigette Lundy-Paine) and Thea (Samara Weaving) watch on in concern.

Check out the clip below, and let us know what you think.

“Bill & Ted Face the Music will see the duo long past their days as time-traveling teenagers and now weighed down by middle age and the responsibilities of family. They’ve written thousands of tunes, but they have yet to write a good one, much less the greatest song ever written. With the fabric of time and space tearing around them, a visitor from the future warns our heroes that only their song can save life as we know it. Out of luck and fresh out of inspiration, Bill and Ted set out on a time travel adventure to seek the song that will set their world right and bring harmony in the universe as we know it. Together with the aid of their daughters, a new crop of historical figures, and some sympathetic music legends, they find much, much more than just a song.”

THE NEW MUTANTS “Special Look” And Posters Released After Tickets For The Movie Finally Go On Sale

Image

While we probably won’t believe it until it actually happens, Disney is pushing forward with that August 28th release date for The New Mutants, and tickets have now officially gone on sale.

To mark the occasion, a new “Special Look” at Josh Boone’s Marvel Comics adaptation has been released, while there are also three new posters from Dolby Cinema, Cinemark XD, and Fandango. The marketing campaign for The New Mutants has picked up a lot in recent weeks, and despite most theaters being closed, it seems Disney is now going all in on getting this one out there.

That’s understandable after all those delays, though there are plenty of fans who remain convinced that the movie will quickly arrive on Disney+/PVOD platforms following its theatrical debut as Disney will have then met obligations made before the merger with 20th Century Fox.

Despite the negativity that’s often surrounded The New Mutants, there’s no denying that it’s pretty intriguing, and after all these delays, you’d hope that it’s at least a little better than Dark Phoenix!

Time will tell on that front, but if this is all to be believed, there’s only ten days until we found out one way or another…assuming you can make it to your local theater, of course.

Check out the sneak peek and those posters below, and then stay tuned for more on The New Mutants later today.

THE BOYS Season 2 Stars Karl Urban And Laz Alonso Tease The Divide Between The Team – EXCLUSIVE

Image

The Boys returns to Amazon for its second season on September 4th with three episodes, while new instalments will then be released over the following five weeks. After the show’s critically acclaimed first year, there’s a huge amount of excitement surrounding this next batch of episodes, and after watching the first few chapters, we promise you that you’re in for a real treat.

You can check out our review next week, but in the meantime, we’re sharing some excerpts from our recent conversations with the cast and crew of The Boys after participating in a series of roundtable interviews last month. Among them were series standouts Karl Urban and Laz Alonso, and after talking about that whale scene, we now have more from the enigmatic actors.

When season two begins, Billy Butcher has only just returned to the team and there’s a very clear divide between him and Mother’s Milk as they clash with how best to handle Hughie. So, can get they back on the same page and can The Boys make things right moving forward?

“I think that fracture within The Boys is generated from the events of season one and how everyone was left at the end of season one,” Urban explains. “Season two, especially at the beginning, not only do we have to deal with The Seven and taking them down, but we have to deal with this internal conflict within the group. That very much perceived act of Butcher turning against The Boys needs to be dealt with because he needs them and I guess they all need each other as wanted felons on the run.”

“They have to learn to rely on each other for their very survival, otherwise they’re going to end up incarcerated,” he continues. “Thematically, this season is every bit as much about ripping away the most important thing from every character as it is uniting these characters with what is most important.”

Alonso, meanwhile, has his own way of viewing the unique dynamic his and Urban’s characters share in season two. “You know, Mother’s Milk and Butcher are very much good cop, bad cop when it comes to Hughie. Mother’s Milk tries to bring him along with love, despite what may happen in the first episode, obviously, but then Butcher is the tough parent. He’s the disciplinarian. I love what gets revealed later on in the season. You understand that there’s a method to both of our madnesses in how we approach things, especially with Hughie.”

It sounds like there are definitely some big surprises on the way this year, and that conflict at the heart of this team promises to be a huge part of those early episodes. If The Boys can’t get their sh*t together, they’re going to be in serious trouble, especially with The Seven hunting them down.

SCREAM 5 Adds VIDA Actress Melissa Barrera; Check Out A Killer Fan-Made Poster

Image

Scream 5 has added its first new cast member in the form of Vida and In The Heights actress Melissa Barrera. No details on her role have been revealed, but her character is excepted to be key to the plot.

Barrera joins returning franchise vets Courtney Cox as Gale Weathers and David Arquette as Dewey Riley. Neve Campbell is said to be in talks to reprise the lead role of Sidney Prescott, but she has not been confirmed to return.

Paramount Pictures will team with Spyglass Media to co-produce and distribute the fifth installment in the iconic horror series, which has Ready or Not duo Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett on board to direct. James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick are co-writing the screenplay. Producers for the film are James Vanderbilt, Paul Neinstein and William Sherak, with Kevin Williamson executive producing.

Plot details are still under wraps, but it’s probably safe to assume the story will revolve around the main characters being stalked by a knife-wielding maniac in a Ghostface mask.

Principal photography is expected to begin late summer in Wilmington NC, and Paramount hopes to release the movie at some point next year.

We also have an awesome fan-made poster from Creepy Duck Design which you can check out below. Honestly, we don’t see any of the official one-sheets topping this!
