Tonight’s SUPERNATURAL Will Be The Last “For Awhile” But Executive Producer Promises The Show Will Return

Image

Supernatural‘s fifteenth and final season is ending sooner than expected because executive producer Andrew Dabb has taken to his Twitter account to confirm that tonight’s episode is the last one.

For now!

Due to the coronavirus pandemic, he revealed that, “This will be our last episode for awhile.” Later, he clarified that even though The CW series has completed filming though episode 18, this week’s episode 13 is the last one because, “our visual effects and sound departments have closed because of the outbreak. So, right now, the episodes can’t be finished.”

He also promised that the #SPNFamily won’t be completely without the show over the coming weeks as there will be “some special treats coming along the way to help us all get through this.”

Supernatural was just two episodes of shy of being completely wrapped when it was shut down, and there’s now concern that viewers will never get a proper ending. We don’t need to fret too much, though, as Dabb assures fans that, “we, The CW, and Warner Bros. fully intend to return and finish the series. It’s not a matter of ‘if,’ it’s a matter of ‘when.'”

With any luck, the hunky duo of Sam and Dean Winchester will return to save the world one final time in the not too distant future, but everything is in chaos right now, and we don’t know what’s to come.

JUSTICE LEAGUE MORTAL Photo Offers Another Awesome Look At Megan Gale’s Wonder Woman

Image

For a variety of reasons, George Miller’s Justice League Mortal never happened. Interest in the movie has never gone away, though, and that’s why a documentary is now in the works. Filmmaker Ryan Unicomb is keeping fans updated on that, but has now admitted that he’s struggling due to some resistance both from Warner Bros. and those who were involved creatively.

In the latest set of images from the DC Comics adaptation, we get another (somewhat familiar) look at the team, as well as an amazing shot of Megan Gale suited up as Wonder Woman.

It’s not the first time we’ve seen her in that costume, of course, but she definitely looks the part.

In the years that followed Justice League Mortal, Adrianne Palicki was cast as the Amazon warrior in an ill-fated television series, while Gal Gadot would later be cast as Diana Prince in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. She will next be seen as the character in Wonder Woman 1984

Other recent Justice League Mortal reveals include Armie Hammer’s Batman cowl and the Batcave.

What do you guys think about Gale’s Wonder Woman?

For now these are all I can share. I know there’s MASSIVE interest in the story behind #JusticeLeagueMortal but there is pushback from the studio and most of the creatives involved. It’s understandably a sore point for many involved. We’re collating everything we have to be able to pitch it properly. It may require a kickstarter or something at some stage, or it may not. I’m 5 years into the journey of getting this made and I VERY much appreciate your patience. I know how important this lost chapter is to us all; as movie goers, as comic readers, as pop culture fans. Rest assured we WANT to be able to show you EVERY costume properly. We WANT to show you the Batmobile. We WANT to show you the Fortress of Solitude. We WANT the artists who worked tirelessly for months to get their well deserved due. We’ll continue to do our best. Be well. Stay safe! #SevenFriends #JusticeLeagueMortal #JusticeLeague #WarnerBrothers #PurryburryProductions

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR Comic-Con Trailer Screenshots Reveal An Earlier Version Of Iron Man Vs. Thanos

Image

At the 2017 San Diego Comic-Con, Marvel Studios shared an early look at Avengers: Infinity War, and it certainly got fans talking. Those lucky enough to be in Hall H were treated to a very early trailer which culminated with Thanos throwing an entire moon at Iron Man on Titan.

As money shots go, it was a great way to blow the roof off the building, and some screenshots from that preview have now found their way online (via The Direct).

There are some key differences here as the Mad Titan looks a little different, while Titan itself also clearly underwent some changes before Avengers: Infinity War arrived in theaters. Unfortunately, Marvel Studios never releases these unfinished trailers shown at events like Comic-Con and D23, as they’re exclusive to those who attend these shows and often feature rough VFX and cut scenes.

It’s cool just seeing these screenshots, though, and this battle will definitely be remembered as one of the most memorable to have ever graced the big screen as part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

BLACK WIDOW Image Gives Us A New Look At David Harbour Suited-Up As Red Guardian

Image

We recently got official confirmation that Black Widow‘s release date has been pushed back amid coronavirus concerns, which means it might be a while before any new marketing material for the Marvel movie comes our way. That said, there are still a few previously unseen stills and promo images doing the rounds online, and here we have another look at Stranger Things‘ David Harbour as a fully suited-up Red Guardian.

BLACK WIDOW Star Scarlett Johansson Covers EW; New Images And Details Revealed

In the comics, Alexei Shostakov is the Soviet equivalent of Captain America, and based on Guardian’s similarly star-spangled costume, it looks like the movie will follow suit. The trailers confirmed that Shostakov will reunite with Natasha (Scarlett Johansson) to help her take down Taskmaster and the other Red Room assassins, but that aside, there’s still quite a lot we don’t know about this big-screen take on the character.

Check out the image below along with the final trailer and some previously released artwork, and let us know if you’re looking forward to Black Widow in the comments.

Black Widow Vs. Taskmaster

8.25 x 11.75 Mounted Print - Marvel Cinematic Universe Black Widow - Fight

Some awesome, animation-style artwork of Widow taking on Taskmaster.

We still don’t know who’ll be playing the villain, but cast member O. T. Fagbenle recently sent speculation into overdrive with a Tweet. That could all be misdirection, of course, as his character has been rumored to be the one under the mask for a while now.

Black Widow #1

Marvel Cinematic Universe - Black Widow - Bars

Another look at Scarlett Johansson as The Fallen Avenger, Natasha Romanoff.

Although this movie has been confirmed to be a prequel (Widow met her maker in Avengers: Endgame, after all), there’s a lot of speculation that at least part of the story will play out post-Endgame. Romanoff is not expected to be resurrected, but many believe that Florence Pugh’s character Yelena Belova may end up taking over the Black Widow mantle.

Black Widow #2

Marvel Cinematic Universe - Black Widow - Run

Although fans have been asking for a standalone Black Widow adventure for many years, Johansson recently revealed that she actually wasn’t all that interested – until she met director Cate Shortland, who was intrigued by the character’s resilience.

“We just bonded over stories about trust and about intimacy and about women surviving,” Shortland says of her initial chat with the actress. “You didn’t have to be a superhero to identify with a woman who has had a really tough childhood and has survived and has a huge heart and helps other people.”

Yelena Belova

Marvel Cinematic Universe - Black Widow - Yelena

Florence Pugh will play Yelena Belova in Marvel’s first (and most likely only) solo Black Widow movie. She has previously gained acclaim for her performances in the likes of WWE wrestling biopic Fighting With My Family and Ari Aster’s Midsommar.

Widow, Yelena, Red Guardian and Taskmaster

Finally, we have an awesome new shot of Natasha, Yelena and Red Guardian with Taskmaster looming in the background.

“In Marvel Studios’ action-packed spy thriller “Black Widow,” Natasha Romanoff, aka Black Widow, confronts the darker parts of her ledger when a dangerous conspiracy with ties to her past arises. Pursued by a force that will stop at nothing to bring her down, Natasha must deal with her history as a spy and the broken relationships left in her wake long before she became an Avenger. Scarlett Johansson reprises her role as Natasha/Black Widow, Florence Pugh stars as Yelena, David Harbour portrays Alexei/The Red Guardian, and Rachel Weisz is Melina. Directed by Cate Shortland and produced by Kevin Feige, “Black Widow”—the first film in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe—hits U.S. theaters on May 1, 2020.” –Marvel Studios.”

Black Widow also stars William Hurt, Ray Winstone and Olivier Richters. Let us know if you’re looking forward to the movie in the comments.

GAME OF THRONES’ Sophie Turner On Evangeline Lilly’s Coronavirus Stance: “F*ck Your Freedom”

Image

It’s safe to say Sophie Turner isn’t exactly on board with Evangeline Lilly’s stance on self-isolation.

Last week, the Ant-Man and The Wasp actress shared an Instagram post which included a photo of a cup of tea, revealing that she had just dropped her kids off at gymnastics camp and had no intention of taking any self-quarantine measures amid the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic. The former Lost star defended her stance by saying, “some people value their lives over freedom, some people value freedom over their lives.”

Now, Turner (Game of Thrones) has hit back at Lilly in an Instagram video of her own. She doesn’t mention any names, but it’s very clear that she’s referencing Lilly’s post.

“Stay inside. Don’t be f–king stupid,” advised the pregnant Dark Phoenix star. “Even if you count your – ” [does air quotes] ‘freedom over … your health.’ I don’t give a f–k about your freedom. You could be infecting other people, other vulnerable people around you by doing this. So stay inside guys! It’s not cool, it’s not big, and it’s not clever… And that’s the tea.”

THE BOYS Season 2 Images Provide New Looks At Homelander And Billy Butcher

Image

We recently got our first official look at You’re the Worst star Aya Cash as Stormfront in the upcoming second season of The Boys, and writer/producer Eric Kripke has now taken to social media to share another couple of new images.

Despite worldwide production delays and postponements due to coronavirus, Kripke revealed that he’s still hard at work (remotely) on the show, and posted a pair of stills from the edit. The first features the ever-despicable Homelander (Antony Starr), and Karl Urban’s Billy Butcher has a typically psychotic look on his boat race in the second.

The first full trailer for The Boys Season 2 was scheduled to screen at PaleyFest on March 15, but with the panels being cancelled along with pretty much every other upcoming event that obviously didn’t happen. There’s speculation that Amazon could decide to release the trailer online at some point over the next week or so, but we’ll just have to wait and see.

For now, check out the pics below and let us know what you hope to see from Butcher and co. when The Boys returns for its sophomore run.

THE BOYS is an irreverent take on what happens when superheroes, who are as popular as celebrities, as influential as politicians and as revered as Gods, abuse their superpowers rather than use them for good. It’s the powerless against the super powerful as The Boys embark on a heroic quest to expose the truth about “The Seven,” and their formidable Vought backing.

Every Big Movie Coming To Digital Early Because Of The Coronavirus From BIRDS OF PREY To SONIC

Image

Things are pretty crazy at the moment thanks to the Coronavirus pandemic, and movie studios have been forced to take some unexpected measures when it comes to how they handle their releases. Thus far, Trolls World Tour is the only theatrical release to switch to a Digital one, but several other films are coming early after their run in theaters was cut short.

Over the coming weeks, we were expecting to see everything from Mulan to A Quiet Place: Part 2 and Black Widow in theaters, and while their respective futures are unclear right now, we have a timetable of big movies coming our way throughout March and early April.

Here, we’re compiled a breakdown of every single film which is set to be released on Digital over the coming weeks so you know exactly what’s happening…and when!

While rumours continue to swirl that a big movie like Wonder Woman 1984 will skip theaters, everything is very much up in the air right now, and Hollywood is clearly going to have to undergo some major changes. In this feature, though, we share what we do know is coming our way…

The Movies Already Available

Invisible-Man

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker arrived a few days sooner than expected last weekend, while Frozen 2 has also hit Disney+ three months early. This past Friday, though, we saw a sudden influx of recent releases hitting Digital platforms, with Universal choosing to share The Invisible Man and The Hunt

British comedy-drama Emma is also available now, while Disney dropped a bombshell by announcing that Onward would receive a surprise release on Friday night ahead of a Disney+ debut in April. That was definitely surprise for a movie that had been at the box office for the past two weeks, but with no theaters to play in, the studio didn’t really have any other choice!

This coming Tuesday, though, we’re going to have even more to watch over the coming weeks…

Harley Quinn: Birds Of Prey (March 24th)

Harley-Quinn

Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey underperformed at the box office despite positive reviews, so it’s no great surprise that the movie is now coming to Digital months earlier than planned.

Director Cathy Yan campaigned for this to happen, and the DC Comics adaptation now has the opportunity to find the audience who overlooked it the first time around. That can only be good news for the film, and Warner Bros. will surely keep a close eye on how this performs if they are indeed mulling over a non-theatrical release for Wonder Woman 1984 in June.

Bloodshot (March 24th)

Bloodshot

Bloodshot only arrived last weekend, but negative reviews and fears over COVID-19 meant it seriously underperformed. Now, with theaters closed, Sony has been forced to ignore the typical theater to Digital window to ensure that people actually check the comic book adaptation out.

2020 isn’t looking like a massive year for Sony Pictures, but both Morbius and Venom 2 are going to be big for them, so perhaps if Bloodshot rakes in the cash, they’ll consider having the latest SUMC adventures debut outside of theaters (should they still be closed by July/October).

The Gentlemen (March 24th)

Gentlemen

Guy Ritchie’s gangster movie was a real return to form for the filmmaker, and The Gentlemen‘s debut on Digital platforms offers some much-needed variety in what looks to be a busy week.

With a phenomenal cast made up of names like Hugh Grant, Matthew McConaughey, Charlie Hunman, and Colin Farrell, this one is well worth watching, and taking advantage of theaters being closed to bring more eyes to this one was a smart move on the part of STX Entertainment.

Dolittle (March 24th)

Dolittle

Robert Downey Jr.’s first post-Avengers: Endgame/MCU role was met with scathing reviews, and the stories about problems behind the scenes proved to be considerably better than this star-studded reimagining of the classic tale.

Still, kids seem to love it, and there are those who have argued it’s quite good fun despite a very strange final act. With schools across the globe being closed, Dolittle could be a must-buy for parents looking to entertain their kids with something a little silly to distract them this coming week.

The Way Back (March 24th)

Way-Back

Viewed as Ben Affleck’s “comeback” feature after his time as Batman and some well documented personal problems, The Way Back was met with positive reviews, but sadly didn’t really get much time in theaters before their doors started closing.

Following an alcoholic construction worker who is recruited to become head coach of the basketball team at the high school he used to attend, it’s an inspirational, hard-hitting tale from director Gavin O’Connor which seemingly showcases Affleck at his best. It’s not exactly The Batman, but it will most certainly do!

Sonic The Hedgehog (March 31st)

Sonic

Sonic the Hedgehog might just prove that the days of every video game movie being, well, terrible, are finally at an end. A fun family flick with a standout performance from Jim Carrey, that redesign definitely paid off, and fans of the SEGA series found plenty to love here.

We’re still waiting on a sequel announcement, but Paramount Pictures will likely be keeping a very close eye on how these Digital sales go, especially as the movie was never able to receive a release in China (that could change down the line, of course, but not for a while yet).

Bad Boys For Life (March 31st)

Bad-Boys2

Another big Sony title coming to Digital this month, Bad Boys For Life would have been arriving on that platform fairly soon anyway, but it’s definitely not a bad thing that we’re seeing it now.

Will Smith’s return to the popular franchise received better reviews than anyone expected, and the threequel was such a commercial success that a fourth instalment is already in the works.

Trolls World Tour (April 10th)

Trolls

Would Universal Pictures have made the decision to steal No Time to Die‘s release date and release this animated sequel on Digital platforms the same day it arrived in theaters had they known it would never receive a theatrical run? Honestly, it’s hard to say, but kids are bound to want to check this one out next month.

Right now, Trolls World Tour is the only major film coming our way in the entire month of April. That’s an undeniably depressing prospect, but here’s hoping it’s good fun if nothing else. It certainly boasts an impressive cast, so it could end up surprising all of us…

What Comes Next?

WW

This is the big question right now. At the moment, movie studios are intent on releasing films like Black Widow and Wonder Woman 1984 in theaters, and it’s not hard to see why. After all, films like that boast hefty budgets, and those are unlikely to be recouped through Digital releases.

Well, that’s the prevailing theory, anyway! Depending on what happens over the next few weeks, we could see studios have a change in attitude, and the way movies are released might just end up changing forever.

COVID-19 isn’t going anywhere fast, and it says a lot that Warner Bros. has even considered not having Wonder Woman 1984 debut on the big screen. It probably won’t be until late April we get a better idea of what the plan is, but don’t be surprised if some big releases end up coming our way a little sooner than expected…

AGENTS OF S.H.I.E.L.D. Star Chloe Bennet Urges People Not To Call COVID-19 The “Chinese Virus”

Image

Recently, COVID-19/the coronavirus has been branded the “Chinese virus,” a term which has bred racism in a crisis which is already bad enough as it is without people turning against each other.

To combat that, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. star Chloe Bennet – the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s first Asian-American superhero before Shang-Chi – has used her Instagram account to urge people not to use a term the actress argues is both unacceptable and xenophobic.

In the post, Bennet addresses her experiences with racism, and explains who family and friends are left feeling ashamed and afraid for something that’s not their fault in any way, shape, or form.

The beautiful S.H.I.E.L.D. agent adds that this “Chinese virus” rhetoric will, “fuel hate and create a breeding ground for bigotry and racism.” Unfortunately, as of today, it’s a term that is still being used, so it seems as if her argument has fallen on deaf ears thus far.

Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. creator Maurissa Tancharoen has also weighed in, adding: “Asians around the world are experiencing racism in the wake of the Coronavirus, and hatred and violence are only encouraged when people in positions of power refer to it as the “Chinese Virus.” Let’s call it what it is, a global pandemic, and let’s unify in support of our phenomenal Asian community when others in leadership are unwilling to do so. Be kind, wash your hands, and stay strong.”

DOCTOR STRANGE Concept Art Reveals A Creepy Humanoid Take On The Dread Dormammu

Image

Doctor Strange was one of the most visually exciting movies Marvel Studios had ever delivered back in 2016 (and still is in many ways), but something that divided fans was Dormammu’s appearance. He looked a lot different to his comic book counterpart, and while getting Benedict Cumberbatch to voice him was a smart move, he looked kind of…weird?

Now, concept artist Jerad S. Marantz has taken to Instagram to share an alternate version of the Dread Dormammu who is a lot more humanoid in appearance and a lot more cosmic in nature.

Chances are he would have been as massive as the version of the villain that Doctor Strange faced off with as there appear to be planets coming out of his head! He looks both God-like and someone who wouldn’t look out of place in a horror movie, and it’s a shame in many ways that Marvel Studios didn’t go for a slightly bolder take on this classic character.

The sequel, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, is set to be released next year, but it will be Sam Raimi in the director’s chair this time instead of Scott Derrickson. Seeing that the Spider-Man trilogy helmer brings to the table is very exciting, though, especially from a visual standpoint.

What do you guys think of this alternate take on the classic villain? To check out more Doctor Strange concept art (featuring The Mindless Ones), make sure to CLICK HERE.
