JUSTICE LEAGUE Star Amy Adams Still Wants To Return As Lois Lane But Believes It’s Unlikely To Happen

Image

Amy Adams first played Lois Lane in 2013’s Man of Steel, and has since appeared in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and Justice League. Just like every other cast member, her role in the latter was drastically altered, but the actress has once again expressed an interest in being given the opportunity to play the character again somewhere down the line.

As you can see, Fandom’s Twitter account has shared a recent quote from the actress in which she talks about reprising the role, while also acknowledging the fact it probably won’t happen.

“Amy Adams would ‘totally be open’ to reprising her role as Lois Lane in a future DC movie, but isn’t holding out hope – ‘I think [the studio is] moving in a different direction, from my understanding,'” the quote reads. While a Supergirl is rumoured to be in the early stages of development, that’s not necessarily a natural fit for Lois Lane, and another Man of Steel movie seems doubtful too.

Looking at Warner Bros.’ slate of upcoming DC Comics movies, there’s nowhere a cameo from Lois even seems likely, so Adams’ time as the character having reached its end is entirely possible.

The same could be said for Henry Cavill, though he too remains optimistic about one day returning.

Are you hoping to see more of this version of Lois Lane in the DC Extended Universe moving forward?

BIRDS OF PREY & THE GENTLEMEN Will Release On Digital HD Next Week In Wake Of Coronavirus Pandemic

Image

Per a new report, and in an effort to provide some fresh entertainment to those currently quarantined across the globe, Warner Bros.’ Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) and STXFilms’ The Gentlemen have both moved up their Digital HD release dates from April to next Tuesday, March 24th.

While Cathy Yan’s Birds of Prey was one of this year’s biggest box office disappointments as it grossed just over $199.1 million ($84.1M domestic; $115M foreign) on an estimated $100 million production budget, which was well short of its estimated $250M to $300 million break even number, Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen was one of this year’s most pleasant surprises, both critically and commercially. The film ultimately earned over $115 milion on an estimated $22 million production budget.

The news comes hot on the heels of Universal Pictures’ decision to make The Invisible ManEmma and The Hunt available for rent this coming Friday as well as making Trolls: World Tour available for rent on April 10, which was its original theatrical release date.

Disney also made its billion-dollar blockbuster Frozen 2 available to stream on Disney+ last weekend, well ahead of its intended streaming launch date, and have also made Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker available to purchase on all Digital HD platforms.

With the coronavirus pandemic currently showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon, it should be an interesting few weeks/months for the film industry as top studios debate the pros/cons of possibly launching some of their upcoming films on streaming platforms rather than give them their theatrical launches to mitigate losses during this troubling time.

However, with that said, it remains increasingly unlikely that potential major blockbusters like Black Widow, A Quiet Place Part IIMulanWonder Woman 1984Top Gun: Maverick and others will be pushed to streaming, as it would likely result in unprecedented losses for the respective studios. Pushing them to later in 2020 and/or to 2021 will likely remain the most viable option.

Big news tonight: #BirdsOfPrey and Guy Ritchie’s #TheGentlemen move up their digital release dates to 3/24 from mid-April. More coming soon, too. Stay tuned… https://t.co/1BmLhRmNUF

SUPERNATURAL: Sam & Dean Meet Sam & Dean In The New Promo For Season 15, Episode 13: “Destiny’s Child”

Image

With Supernatural having not yet filmed its series finale, it remains to be seen whether The CW will ultimately decide to shift around the rest of the already shot season to stretch out their April/May programming schedule until filming can resume, which may actually end up getting pushed back even further due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.

The network has already moved back episodes of The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, presumably to fill their spring schedule and it seems likely there will be more shifts to come this as they work to keep new content coming while knowing they don’t have finales ready for a number of their most popular series.
