BATMAN Concept Art From A “Canceled Project” Reveals An Apparent FLASHPOINT Take On The Dark Knight

Image

Concept artist Jerad S. Marantz has worked on a number of high-profile projects, including Avengers: Infinity War and Justice League. He frequently shares his artwork on social media, but this latest piece has definitely got fans talking as it’s from an undisclosed “canceled project.”

As you can see, the artwork shows a very unique take on Batman which definitely appears to have been inspired by the Flashpoint comic books.

It’s obviously hard not to wonder whether this design was meant for an earlier version of The Flash movie, as it’s no secret the Thomas Wayne version of Batman was once set to be part of the plot. There are any number of possibilities, however, so that’s purely speculation for the time being.

There are currently two confirmed versions of the Dark Knight set for The Flash, with Ben Affleck and Michael Keaton both reprising their roles. Is it too much to hope that Jeffrey Dean Morgan joins them, reprising his role from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice?

With a little over a month to go until the return of Supernatural, The CW has released a brand new extended trailer for the final seven episodes, previewing what’s to come as Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) Winchester make their last stand against God (Rob Benedict).

With production on the final two episodes still underway, the new footage is primarily from the five installments that were postponed in April due to the global production shut down caused by the still ongoing coronavirus pandemic, offering a first look at a few returning guest stars as well as an idea of what Sam and Dean are planning.

For those unfamiliar with the source material, Dune follows the Atreides family as they relocate to the desolate planet of Arrakis to assume control of the production of the most valuable resource in the galaxy, the Spice Melange. Unfortunately, an act of treachery soon makes an outcast of The Duke Atreides’ youngest son Paul, and he must accept his destiny as a powerful prophet of the Arrakis natives known as The Fremen.

The dull trailer for Dune is scheduled to release online on September 9, but the shorter version screening in theaters with Tenet has now leaked online. We won’t host it here, but it shouldn’t be too hard to locate!

THE STAND: CBS All Access Releases First Teaser Trailer For Upcoming Stephen King Adaptation

Image

Following the announcement that Stephen King’s The Stand will premiere on December 17th, CBS All Access has released the first trailer.

At just 30 second long this is the very definition of a teaser, but it does mange to squeeze in quite a few shots fans of the novel should recognize. We see Frannie Goldsmith (Odessa Young) encounter Mother Abagail (Whoopi Goldberg) in a dream, Stu Redman’s (James Marsden) internment at Stovington, Larry and Rita’s journey through New York City, and more.

We also get a glimpse of Alexander Skarsgård as the demonic Randall Flagg and some of the terrifying visions he sends to the protagonists.

For those unfamiliar with King’s novel, The Stand deals with a global pandemic (yes, it’s a scarily prescient tale) known as “Captain Tripps” which wipes out 99% of the world’s population. The survivors are immune to the disease, but are ultimately forced to fight each other as some are drawn to a the light (Abagail), and others to darkness (Flagg).

New Mutants director Josh Boone, who was the driving force behind all previous attempts to adapt the book, will direct, write, and produce the upcoming series.

Check out the teaser below along with some recently released stills, and let us know if you plan on checking this out in the comments.

FORCE FOR GOOD Whoopi Goldberg as Mother Abagail the 108yearold whose followers hold fast to their humanity.

Owen Teague as Harold Lauder.

ANGELS AND DEVILS Alexander Skarsgard as demonic Randall Flagg.
