THE BOYS: Homelander Takes A Leak On The City On New Season 2 Promo Poster

Image

When ya gotta go, ya gotta go!

The Boys are set to return for more ultra-violent adventures on September 4, and on the heels of the recent blood-soaked new trailer, we have another promo poster for what promises to be an even batshit crazier second season.

Even though Homelander (Anthony Starr) is still highly regarded as a selfless hero by the majority of New Yorkers, as Season 1 progressed he was revealed to be a sadistic monster. The leader of The Seven’s indifference towards the city and outright disdain for its people is summed up on this new key art, which shows the dirty SOB taking a piss off the side of a building.

Check out the poster along with the recent NSFW trailer below, and be sure to let us know if you plan on tuning in for Season 2 of The Boys in the comments.

— Eric Kripke (@therealKripke) July 8, 2020

The even more intense, more insane season two finds The Boys on the run from the law, hunted by the Supes, and desperately trying to regroup and fight back against Vought. In hiding, Hughie (Jack Quaid), Mother’s Milk (Laz Alonso), Frenchie (Tomer Capon) and Kimiko (Karen Fukuhara) try to adjust to a new normal, with Butcher (Karl Urban) nowhere to be found. Meanwhile, Starlight (Erin Moriarty) must navigate her place in The Seven as Homelander (Antony Starr) sets his sights on taking complete control. His power is threatened with the addition of Stormfront (Aya Cash), a social media-savvy new Supe, who has an agenda of her own. On top of that, the Supervillain threat takes center stage and makes waves as Vought seeks to capitalize on the nation’s paranoia.

The Boys will return to Amazon Prime this September.

STARGIRL Gets A Blast From The Past In New Photos From Season 1, Episode 11: “Shining Knight”

Image

After giving us some intriguing teases thus far, it looks like episode eleven of Stargirl will finally bring us some answers about that mysterious janitor (Mark Ashworth) who’s been patrolling the halls of Blue Valley High School and keeping its best students safe – just like he did when Courtney (Brec Bassinger) was in trouble against Cindy (Meg DeLacy) a few weeks ago.

Meanwhile, the episode will also be a big one for our heroine when someone from her past comes to town and promptly throws her life into a tailspin.

The photos aren’t particularly forthcoming, but with her mother (Amy Smart) now seemingly in on her big superhero secret, it’s quite plausible that the hour could shed some light on the true identity of her father, who, in the comics, is definitely not the deceased Starman (Joel McHale), but the thug for hire Sam Kurtis.

“Shining Knight” – (8:00-9:00 p.m. ET) (TV-PG) (HDTV)

A BLAST FROM THE PAST – Courtney’s (Brec Bassinger) life gets turned upside down when someone from her past arrives in Blue Valley. Meanwhile, Pat (Luke Wilson) uncovers new information about the ISA’s plan and Jordan (Neil Jackson) makes a surprising discovery at work. Jennifer Phang directed the episode written by Geoff Johns (#111). Amy Smart, Yvette Monreal, Anjelika Washington, Cameron Gellman, Trae Romano, Meg DeLacy and Christopher James Baker also star. Original airdate 7/28/2020.

The new DC UNIVERSE drama series DC’s STARGIRL follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. This new drama reimagines Stargirl and the very first superhero team, the Justice Society of America, in an unpredictable series that focuses on the character that started creator Geoff Johns’ career as a comic book writer when he created her in 1999, lovingly inspired by his late sister who was killed in a 1996 plane explosion.

Stargirl features:

Brec Bassinger as Courtney Whitmore/Stargirl

Yvette Monreal as Yolanda Montez/Wildcat

Anjelika Washington as Beth Chapel/Doctor Mid-NIte

Cameron Gellman as Rick Tyler/Hourman

Trae Romano as Mike Dugan

AVENGERS: INFINITY WAR – Epic BTS Video Shows Scarlet Witch Stunt Double Battling Proxima Midnight

Image

While it’s not quite as grand in scale as Avengers: Endgame, Avengers: Infinity War featured more than its fair share of memorable action scenes. Among them was Scarlet Witch’s battle with Proxima Midnight in Edinburgh, Scotland, and while Steve Rogers, Black Widow, and The Falcon ultimately saved the day, Wanda put up one heck of a fight.

Elizabeth Olsen’s stunt double, CC Ice, has now shared an amazing behind the scenes video showcasing the work that went into creating the scene. As you can see, she uses cardboard boxes to stand in for pillars, and even uses rudimentary special effects to recreate Scarlet Witch and Proxima’s powers.

It’s impressive to see just how much of what she came up with ended up in the movie, and with the Scarlet Witch’s powers on the rise, what we see from her moving forward promises to be even more impressive. After all, Marvel Studios President Kevin Feige has already said that Wanda is the MCU’s most powerful hero, and that’s set to be explored in WandaVision.

Check out the video below:

JOKER: Amazing Behind The Scenes Photo Shows Joaquin Phoenix Dancing Down Those Now Iconic Steps

Image

Despite a lot of controversy ahead of its release, Joker ended up being a critical and commercial hit which has led to a very real hope that some sort of sequel will follow. It’s certainly possible, and director Todd Phillips could definitely put a unique spin on the Batman versus Joker dynamic.

Talking of the filmmaker, he’s now shared a very cool behind the scenes shot from the R-Rated DC Comics adaptation of Oscar-winner Joaquin Phoenix dancing down those now iconic steps.

They’re located in The Bronx and have since become something of a tourist destination for fans of Joker; that’s led to a lot of backlash from local residents, of course, and some people looking for photo opportunities for their Instagram accounts have ended up being pelted with eggs!

It’s fair to say that this sequence has become one of the most memorable Joker moments to ever grace the big screen, and Phoenix’s performance earned him a well-deserved series of award wins. The movie wasn’t overly comic accurate, of course, but that ultimately didn’t really matter.

Check out the behind the scenes photo below:

STAR WARS: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK Returned To #1 At The Box Office For The First Time In 23 Years

Image

Star Wars: The Empire Strikes Back was released in 1980 to widespread critical acclaim and an impressive box office haul, and George Lucas’ “Special Edition” later followed in February 1997. Now, for the first time in over 23 years, the classic movie has once again hit #1 at the North American box office.

It’s currently leading the charge with an estimated $175,000, and should ultimately end the weekend with between $400,000 – $500,000. That’s been about as good as things get these past few weeks, with other reissues like Jurassic Park and Ghostbusters earning a similar amount at less than 500 sites.

Disney actually ended up taking the three top spots at the box office with Black Panther at #2, and Inside Out at #3. Only a handful of theaters have decided to re-open, and much of this revenue actually comes from drive-ins. Those are doing big business right now, and should continue to do so for a while.

The Empire Strikes Back was #1 at the domestic box office for eight weeks following its May 21st, 1980 release, and it stayed in that position for two weeks for the “Special Edition” seventeen years later.

It’s still unclear when theaters will be able to re-open, with analysts now predicting that those scheduled August release dates are going to slip into September due to the ongoing rise of COVID-19 cases.

Did you brave your local theater this weekend?

X-MEN: DAYS OF FUTURE PAST Arrives On Disney+ With F-Bomb And Hugh Jackman’s Butt Still Intact

Image

X-Men: Days of Future Past arrived on the US version of Disney+ this weekend, and star Hugh Jackman took to Instagram to assure fans that the critically acclaimed release hasn’t been censored.

Given the family-friendly nature of the streaming service, a number of past movies have been changed, with edits made to the likes of Wizards of Waverly Place and Splash (the latter was widely ridiculed online for its attempts to remove on-screen nudity).  That could explain why the 2014 release hasn’t been changed as the backlash would have been significant from comic book fans.

In the case of X-Men: Days of Future Past, Jackman took to Instagram to say, “Days Of Future Past becomes the first movie to air on Disney+ uncensored. That was my future but let’s be honest … it’s more like my past.” The scenes in question included an F-Bomb from Wolverine and a shot of the actor’s butt when he first travels back to the past.

It will be interesting seeing what happens to future X-Men movies added to Disney+ as they often contain quite mature moments you wouldn’t necessarily expect to see in a PG-13 blockbuster.

#AmberTurd Trends On Twitter As FANTASTIC BEASTS Star Johnny Depp Drops More Bombshells In Court Case

Image

Johnny Depp’s libel battle against The Sun newspaper owner News Group Newspapers continued in London’s High Court yesterday with more shocking and disturbing claims…and one which saw Friday end with #AmberTurd trending on Twitter.

The Fantastic Beasts star told lawyers that he ended his marriage with Aquaman star Amber Heard when faeces was left in their marital bed, an act which led to the actor nicknaming his now ex-wife, “Amber Turd.” After a particularly nasty argument between the two, Depp alleges that on May 23, 2016, Heard, or her friend IO Tillett Wright, defecated in their bed after he showed up late to her birthday party and then decided to leave early.

Depp says it was the next day that he received a call from his housekeeper to say she had discovered faeces in the bed, and he knew it was too large to have come from one of their two dogs. Initially, he found the incident funny, and dubbed his ex “Amber Turd” in texts to friends.

The actor said that, “iO Tillet Wright seemed the only one that would be crass enough to commit such an act,” but claims that Heard confessed to their estate manager that it had been a “harmless prank.” This is said to have contributed to the end of their marriage. There no way of telling whether these allegations are true or false, but they are just allegations at this stage.

A series of claims were also made by The Sun’s lawyers indicating that Depp hit Heard with a champagne bottle and cell phone, and you can read more about those by following the link above.
