While it seemed as though talks for a sixth season renewal of Lucifer were on the one-yard line a few weeks back, TV Line is now reporting that negotiations between star Tom Ellis and Warner Bros. Television have suddenly broken down, with the leading man allegedly rejecting the studio’s latest offer.
It was previously reported that Ellis had already finalized a deal for season six, so depending on the circumstances behind this latest development, there is a possibility he could be in breach of contract if he chooses not to honor his existing deal.
According to their sources, Warner Bros. TV has made multiple efforts to sweeten the pot for Ellis, but it looks like they’ve finally reached their tipping point. An insider said, “Everyone wants Tom to be happy, but there’s a limit, and it’s been reached.”
Despite the current controversy, it seems more likely than not that this situation with Ellis will ultimately be resolved as co-showrunners Ildy Modrovich and Joe Henderson have already closed their deals and the entire supporting cast is also expected to have their options picked up, although that is dependent on first closing a deal with Ellis.
It just now remains to be seen which side will concede first.
Meanwhile, Lucifer is slated to return for its fifth (and potentially final) season this summer.

Universal Pictures Home Entertainment has announced that Craig Zobel’s The Hunt will arrive on Digital HD on May 26 and on Blu-ray and DVD on June 9.
The Jason Blum production was one of the first films to have its theatrical window cut drastically short last month due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic and is currently available to rent on all digital retailers. Prior to its VOD debut, the film was already on its way to underperforming at the box office, having grossed just over $6.5 million worldwide on an estimated $14 million production budget.
In addition to the full-length movie, the home video combo pack will also contain a number of making-of featurettes, including one that will take you behind designing some of the goriest death sequences.

In this subversive satire, a group of elites gather for the very first time at a remote Manor House to hunt ordinary Americans for sport. But the elites’ master plan is about to be derailed because one of The Hunted, Crystal (Gilpin), knows The Hunters’ game better than they do. She turns the tables on the killers, picking them off one by one as she makes her way toward the mysterious woman (two-time Oscar® winner Hilary Swank, Million Dollar Baby) at the center of it all.
THE HUNT features an outstanding supporting cast including Emma Roberts (“American Horror Story”), Ike Barinholtz (Blockers), Justin Hartley (“This is Us”) and Ethan Suplee (“My Name is Earl”). The theatrical version of the film is currently available for early viewing on a wide variety of popular on-demand services as a premium rental offering.

God of War art director Raf Grassetti has been sharing some awesome designs for characters from the classic Batman: The Animated Series to his Instagram page, and he’s now added two more villains to his series of portraits.
Joining Joker, Harley Quinn, Two-Face, Scarecrow, Bane, Killer Croc, Penguin, Clayface, Man-Bat, Catwoman, Phantasm, Mr. Freeze and The Ventriloquist, we have one of The Dark Knight’s most well-known foes, The Riddler, and seductive femme fatale Poison Ivy.
Ivy has made it to the small screen in both live-action and animated form, but the only movie version we’ve seen was Uma Thurman’s much-maligned take in Batman and Robin, so it’s fair to say the character is due another go on the big screen. Many would feel that Jim Carey’s interpretation of The Riddler in Batman Forever was more successful, but fans are looking forward to what will hopefully be a more serious and chilling portrayal of Edward Nashton in Matt Reeves’ The Batman.
Batman: The Animated Series is an American superhero animated television series based on the DC Comics superhero Batman. Developed by Bruce Timm, Paul Dini, and Mitch Brian, and produced by Warner Bros. Animation, it originally aired on Fox Kids from September 5, 1992, to September 15, 1995, with a total of 85 episodes. For the final fifteen episodes, the series was given the on-screen title The Adventures of Batman & Robin, which was also used for reruns of earlier episodes. The series became the first in the continuity of the shared DC animated universe; spawning further animated TV series, feature films, comic books and video games with most of the same creative talent.
Grassetti has decided to focus on the villains first, but he assures us that there’s “just a couple more” to go before he starts on the heroes.
