HARLEY QUINN: BIRDS OF PREY Set Video Reveals Margot Robbie Pulled Off One Of The Film’s Hardest Stunts

Image

Whether it was down to an underwhelming marketing campaign or a poorly chosen title, the newly minted Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey didn’t make a huge box office splash, and Warner Bros. is now no doubt hoping that the DC Comics movie will find an audience on Digital platforms instead.

It became available to rent and buy on platforms like FandangoNOW on Tuesday, and in a clip from the special features that’s gone viral, we see Margot Robbie pulling off a jaw-dropping stunt!

The actress requires no help in doing so, and as you can see in the embedded Tweet below, she effortlessly pulls off Harley Quinn’s moves in a sequence you would be forgiven for thinking is only possible for experienced stuntpeople. It’s seriously impressive, and not something anyone could have guessed Robbie herself would be able to do as an A-List star!

We can safely assume she did the majority of her own stunts after watching this video, and Harley Quinn: Birds of Prey clearly boasts some impressive special features if this is any indication.

You ever hear the one about the cop, the songbird, the psycho and the mafia princess? ‘Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn)’ is a twisted tale told by Harley herself, as only Harley can tell it.  When Gotham’s most nefariously narcissistic villain, Roman Sionis, and his zealous right-hand, Zsasz, put a target on a young girl named Cass, the city is turned upside down looking for her.  Harley, Huntress, Black Canary and Renee Montoya’s paths collide, and the unlikely foursome have no choice but to team up to take Roman down.

ANT-MAN Actress Evangeline Lilly Offers “Sincere & Heartfelt Apology” For Self-Isolation Stance

Image

Last week, when most celebs were encouraging people to stay at home and practice self-isolation as the world attempts to deal with the spread of COVID-19, Ant-Man star Evangeline Lilly shared an Instagram post stating that it was still “business as usual” for her.

Lilly revealed that she had just dropped her kids off at gymnastics camp, and had no intention of taking any self-quarantine measures amid the ongoing pandemic. The former Lost star defended her stance by saying, “some people value their lives over freedom, some people value freedom over their lives.”

Not surprisingly, her post came in for a lot of backlash, with fans and other celebs such as Game of Thrones‘ Sophie Turner calling her out for what was widely considered to be an irresponsible and dangerous stance.

Now, Lilly has posted a follow-up message.

Hello everyone.

I am writing you from my home where I have been social distancing since Mar 18th – when social distancing was instituted in the small community where I am currently living. At the time of my Mar 16th post, the directives from the authorities here were that we not congregate in groups of more than 250ppl and that we wash our hands regularly, which we were doing. Two days later, those directives changed and, despite my intense trepidation over the socioeconomic and political repercussions of this course of action, PLEASE KNOW I AM DOING MY PART TO FLATTEN THE CURVE, PRACTICING SOCIAL DISTANCING AND STAYING HOME WITH MY FAMILY.

I want to offer my sincere and heartfelt apology for the insensitivity I showed in my previous post to the very real suffering and fear that has gripped the world through COVID19. Grandparents, parents, children, sisters and brothers are dying, the world is rallying to find a way to stop this very real threat, and my ensuing silence has sent a dismissive, arrogant and cryptic message. My direct and special apologies to those most affected by this pandemic. I never meant to hurt you. When I wrote that post 10 days ago, I thought I was infusing calm into the hysteria. I can see now that I was projecting my own fears into an already fearful and traumatic situation.

I am grieved by the ongoing loss of life, and the impossible decisions medical workers around the world must make as they treat those affected. I am concerned for our communities – small businesses and families living paycheck-to-paycheck – and I am trying to follow responsible recommendations for how to help. Like many of you, I fear for the political aftermath of this pandemic, and I am praying for us all. At the same time, I am heartened by the beauty and humanity I see so many people demonstrating toward one another in this vulnerable time. When I was grappling with my own fears over social distancing, one kind, wise and gracious person said to me “do it out of love, not fear” and it helped me to realize my place in all of this.

Sending love to all of you, even if you can’t return it right now. EL

Considering The U.S. now leads the world in confirmed coronavirus cases, this was probably the right move!

How have you guys been handling the situation? Feel free to let us know how you’re coping in the comments, and stay safe out there.

MORBIUS: A New Look At Jared Leto’s Living Vampire Has Been Revealed

Image

Morbius is set to be released at the end of July, and while movies in April, May, and June have all been delayed due to COVID-19 concerns, the next Sony’s Universe of Marvel Characters movie is safe…for the time being!

Now, a new Comic-Con magazine cover that’s doing the rounds online teases Michael Morbius’ transformation into The Living Vampire. It’s a cool piece of imagery, and one that would make for a pretty decent teaser poster!

Post-production is presumably taking place on Morbius remotely, but there’s no way of knowing that for sure. If not, there’s a risk that the movie will be unable to meet its planned release date.

With that in mind, it’s hard to say when we’ll see another trailer, but seeing as Sony is packing Morbius full of Spider-Man Easter Eggs, they’ll no doubt want to get it in theaters before Venom 2 in order to maintain some semblance of continuity. Then again, this is Sony’s we’re talking about!

Are you guys excited to check out Morbius?

THE ANGRY BIRDS Flies From Cell Phones To Theaters To TV For A New Animated Netflix Series

Image

After two moderately successful movies, The Angry Birds is coming to television in Angry Birds: Summer Madness. As the title implies, it will debut next summer (on Netflix, of course).

Developed by Cake and Rovio Entertainment, there will be 40 11 minute episodes in total and, as you can see above, Red, Bomb, and Chuck are getting a brand new look courtesy of an updated animation style. They will be joined by a new flock of characters, and Deadline has a description of the series!

The site notes that the show will follow the “tween birds at summer camp under the questionable guidance of their counselor Mighty Eagle.”

“Explosive antics, improbable pranks and crazy summertime adventures see the birds pushing boundaries and breaking all the rules while fending off the brash and obnoxious Pigs on the other side of the lake,” it continues, “who seem hell-bent on causing as much mayhem as possible!”

Whether this is the end for The Angry Birds on the big screen is unclear, but seeing younger versions of this adorable trio will definitely be a treat for fans and younger viewers alike.

Curtis Lelash, Director of Original Animated Series, Netflix said in a statement, “Angry Birds have been a true phenomenon for kids around the world and we’re excited to bring them home to the nest at Netflix where they will be angrier and bird-ier than ever.”

Universal Studios Extends Theme Park Closures From April 1st Until Later In The Month

Image

In news which most definitely should not come as a surprise, Universal Studios has pushed back its re-opening date in both Hollywood and Orlando from April 1st to April 19th.

The announcement about the closure of the theme parks came on March 12th, and the coronavirus pandemic has only worsened since then. Universal closed down the same day as Disneyland and Walt Disney World, so a similar announcement from Disney is quite likely imminent.

“We are extending the closure of Universal Orlando Resort and Universal Studios Hollywood through April 19,” reads the statement released today, “as we continue to respond to current conditions and make the health and safety of team members and guests our top priority.”

Orlando has recently strengthened restrictions on public gatherings and social distancing, and the 2020 Olympics has already been pushed back t0 2021 due to COVID-19 concerns.

Part of Universal Studios’ decision could be tied to the recent death of a 34-year-old man who visited both Universal Studios and Walt Disney World and then tested positive for coronavirus just a few days later. Being safe instead of sorry is the right move, however, and these closures could stretch well into 2020 depending what happens in April and May.
