Fans of Phil Lord and Christopher Miller's awesome The Lego Movie are going to have to wait quite a bit longer than they expected to see Emmett, Wyldstyle and co. return for more adventures. According to Deadline, the highly anticipated sequel has been pushed back to February 8, 2019 – not too far off a full year from its original 2018 release date.
No reason was given for the change-up, but the studio has also set new dates for Gerard Butler's Geostorm (Oct. 20, 2017) and Ben Affleck's Live By Night (Jan. 13, 2017).
Disappointing news for sure – but The Lego Batman movie is due out next May, so at least that'll make the wait more bearable.
