Watch – Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed Teases Untold Story Of Famous Painter’s Life

After Twitch opened the floodgates with their streaming marathon of The Joy of Painting in 2015, it seems that the hype for Bob Ross hasn’t died down since. People have wanted to see and hear more about the painter so much that a special documentary titled Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed was created and is set to release on Netflix on August 25th.

Bob Ross was always known for valuing his privacy and being secretive about his life, and Bob Ross Inc. has previously been incredibly protective of his image. This makes the creepy music in the trailer and hints that he might have a darker past all the more intriguing as viewers may have a lot more to discover about this artistic icon.

Bob Ross: Happy Accidents, Betrayal & Greed brings us the shockingly untold story of the prolific landscape artist and host of The Joy of Painting. With a keen appreciation for nature, and a kind and gentle demeanor, Bob Ross encouraged everyone he met to embrace their creativity and believe in themselves, becoming a cultural phenomenon along the way. The man who famously said that there were no mistakes – just happy accidents – has brought sheer delight to the world for decades. Beyond the iconic hair, soothing voice and nostalgic paintings lies a mystery that many have yet to discover.”

Official Synopsis From Netflix

Fans will just have to speculate on just what be shared in the film as Netflix says they cannot release the “official” trailer until after the documentary is released. For now, fans can try to keep content by watching the entirety of The Joy of Painting for free on YouTube.

Watch: Harley Quinn Vs. Joker Fan-Made Trailer Teases A Clown Showdown

x

Following the critical (if not so much commercial) success of The Suicide Squad, DC fans are desperate to know where Margot Robbie’s Harley Quinn will go from here. That’s currently unclear, but there are a couple of projects that have been stuck in development for years and could fit the bill. James Gunn has thrown doubt on Gotham City Sirens happening anytime soon, though, so that leaves Harley Quin vs. the Joker as one possibility.

And this fan-made trailer for the movie concept teases that it could be an epic showdown of the clowns if it ever became a reality. Binge Watch This devised this trailer, which pitches Robbie’s Harley and Jared Leto’s Joker tearing up Gotham City as they engage in an action-charged battle against each other and other villains from Batman’s rogues gallery. Though this promo only repurposes footage from the duo’s previous appearances, it’s enough to convince us that it could make a great follow-up to The Suicide Squad.

Harley Quinn vs. the Joker was announced way back in 2017, and over the years we’ve received the odd update that tells us it’s still on the table despite not being in active development. This is Us writers Glenn Ficarra and John Requa remain attached to write and direct the film, which would actually be pitched as a comedy. Seeing as Zack Snyder’s Justice League brought back Leto’s Joker earlier this year, the movie isn’t as unlikely to materialize as it once was.

Robbie has revealed that she’s ready to return to her beloved role, while Gunn’s said that he and the Australian star have discussed working together again. The actress generally seems keen to pair her character up with other female DC icons, like Poison Ivy or Batgirl, however, so that’s maybe a mark against a vs. Joker movie happening. Unless they rename it Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy and Batgirl vs the Joker. That could work.

Catch Robbie’s Harley Quin in The Suicide Squad, in theaters and on HBO Max now.

An Ed Sheeran Song Got A Surprise Anime Music Video

Ed Sheeran and anime aren’t two words that usually go together but today that isn’t the case! For his newest single “Bad Habits,” he collaborated with long-time fan and artist Rui Ikeda to create a special music video for the song that Warner Music Japan began streaming on Wednesday.

The video features a young woman falling in love with a vampire that likes to enjoy the wild nightlife that can be found in Tokyo.

Ikeda’s videos and animations were already popular on TikTok where she has previously professed to be a major fan of Ed’s music. This isn’t the first time Ed Sheeran has worked with a manga artist to create an animated music video either, having previously worked with Yoriko Hoshi to create a music video for his song “Supermarket Flowers.”

Watch: Nicolas Cage Gets Nuts In Prisoners Of The Ghostland Trailer

x

Compared to the succession of tedious action thrillers he’d been pumping out for the better part of a decade, Nicolas Cage has been on a hell of a roll over the last couple of years. In fact, if his next few releases live up to their undoubted potential, then we could be talking about the actor’s hottest streak since the mid-90s when he delivered the phenomenal quartet of Leaving Las Vegas, The Rock, Con Air and Face/Off one after the other.

Sure, there have been a couple of stinkers along the way like The Humanity Bureau, Running with the Devil and Kill Chain, but since 2018 the Academy Award winner has appeared in acclaimed animations Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse and Teen Titans Go! to the Movies, psychological mindf*cks Mandy and Color Out of Space, tongue in cheek amusement park slasher Willy’s Wonderland and Pig, which is the best-reviewed live-action film of his entire career.

Next up is supernatural thriller Prisoners of the Ghostland, which arrives on September 17th, and as you can see from the latest trailer, this thing looks positively insane. Cage stars as a bank robber named Hero who gets broken out of jail in a place called Samurai Town by an evil governor, whose adopted granddaughter has been kidnapped and taken to an alternate dimension.

Strapped into a leather jumpsuit riddled with explosive that detonates in five days, Hero sets out to find the damsel in distress and clearly encounters all sorts of wild and crazy sh*t along the way. Prisoners of the Ghostland premiered on the festival circuit earlier this year and drew strong reviews, and all of them say the same thing: It provides Cage Rage at its finest.

How Much Does Drew Gooden Make?

Drew Gooden

YouTube and Vine have birthed a brand new generation of comedians, many of whom are gaining a foothold on YouTube and beginning to branch out into other mainstream avenues. Drew Gooden, a Viner-turned-YouTuber, is one such up-and-coming comedian. He has already written his name in halls of meme history, as the father of the iconic “Road Work ahead” Vine.

There’s quite a bit more to Gooden than just his years-old work on Vine, however. Since the long lost days of the favored video sharing platform, Gooden has carved out a place for himself among some of YouTube’s most popular comedic creators.

Gooden’s humorous uploads touch on just about every avenue of entertainment YouTube has to offer. He does reaction videos, skits, commentary videos, and has even collaborated with his wife on a few more recent uploads. His comedic talents have rocketed him to popularity on the platform, where he has earned 3.13 million subscribers. His videos consistently get views in the millions, and his fans eagerly await each somewhat sporadic upload.

Gooden hasn’t stopped at YouTube, either. His work in comedy also brought him to the stage, where he toured during the fall of 2019 along with fellow Viners Danny Gonzalez and Kurtis Conner. The tour, titled “We Are Two Different People,” was billed as a comedy tour, and leaned into the remarkably similar histories Gonzalez and Gooden have. Both are former Viners turned YouTubers, both are well into their careers at the ripe young age of 27, and both are, as the duo put it, “skinny white guys on the internet.” Kurtis, who also shares quite a bit in common with Gooden and Gonzalez, came along as the show’s opener.

So How Much Is Drew Gooden Worth?

Gooden’s career has continued to flourish since the good old days uploading 7-second clips to Vine. His work on YouTube, where he has more than 456 million views, has made him a recognizable face among fans of the site. It has also earned him approximately $1.48 million a year in ad revenue, according to Net Worth Spot.

But that’s just on YouTube. If you add in the revenue he may make off any future “skinny white guy” tours, combined with the revenue he makes from his online shop “The Little Stinker Zone,” he actually likely pulls in closer to $2.5 million. His shop sells a variety of comedically-influenced attire, including “Little Stinker” shirts, hoodies, and hats. Overall, his net worth is estimated somewhere in the $6 million range, which is an impressive goal post to hit several years before your 30th birthday.

How Much Does Danny Gonzales Make?

Danny Gonzalez

Like many YouTubers, Danny Gonzalez got his start on Vine. The now-defunct video-sharing app saw him lend several classics to its archives, including his definitive “I come on a bit strong sometimes,” which continues to crop up in Vine compilations to this day. His strong start lead to a lucrative career on YouTube, where the 27-year-old content creator has racked up millions of subscribers.

Nearly five million subscribers, in fact. Many of his loyal fans followed him from Vine to YouTube, but the remainder of his followers trickled in over the years thanks to his comedic content and winning charm. Gonzalez has turned those followers, and the hundreds of millions of views they have given him, to make a career out of his YouTube content creation.

Over the years, the comedy videos Gonzalez has uploaded to YouTube have earned him upwards of 860 million views, racking up the monetary return for all of his hard work. He has also collaborated with other former Viners and YouTube creators, including Drew Gooden and Kurtis Conner. In 2019, he and Gooden actually went on a comedy tour titled “We Are Two Different People,” playing on the fact that he and Gooden are often mistaken for one another. The mix-up comes, according to the duo, from the fact that they are both “skinny white guys on the internet.” Conner came along on the “skinny white guy” tour as the show’s opener.

So How Much Does Danny Gonzalez Make?

Gonzalez’s efforts have paid off for him in a big way. His YouTube uploads earn him just under $100,000 a year, based on estimations from Net Worth Spot. The hundreds of thousands of views his videos earn on a daily basis push his daily income into the $4,800 range. He has also worked with a number of sponsors, including Dell, McDonald’s, and Audible.

Gonzalez also earns an income from his music. Most of his musical creations are comedic in nature, a fitting approach for the humorously-minded Gonzalez, but have earned him the official moniker of “musician” on the web. His amusing tracks, including the iconic “I’m Gonna Kill Santa Claus,” are a big part of why his fanbase keeps coming back for more. Much of his music can be enjoyed on a variety of sites, including Spotify, Amazon Music, Soundcloud, and Pandora.

All of this has given Gonzalez an estimated net worth of just under $4 million. At only 27 years old, that is quite an impressive feat. Add in the income he has made from his comedy tour, along with the additional income he earns from his goofy second channel and backup gaming channel, and this young content creator has set himself up well.

How Much Does Kurtis Connor make?

Kurtis Conner

One of the persisting gems from those long-lost Vine days, Kurtis Conner is still going strong on YouTube. Like many Viners, he migrated to YouTube when the popular 7-second video-sharing app was killed off by Twitter (RIP). The Canadian content creator has been on YouTube since 2014, and in that time has built up a solid following more than 3 million subscribers strong.

Conner has since skyrocketed to become one of YouTube’s most popular commentary creators. Instead of relying on prank videos or viral challenges, Conner racks up followers thanks to his videos providing commentary on pop culture. His videos cover everything from Instagram comedians to TikTok news and character analysis of popular shows. He’s even uploaded clips of his standup act, which is honestly pretty good.

He plans to expand on this formula, adding an even more diverse range of content to his YouTube page in the future. On top of his commentary videos, reaction clips, and standup, Conner told Insider in Feb. 2020 that he planned to branch out into new content that sees him getting out and about in the world. Given the way 2020 went post-February, he probably hasn’t had much of a chance to dive into this expanded approach to his content creation. One of these days, however, Conner says he wants to “try doing different types of content instead of just me sitting in my room and talking to a camera.”

“I would love to write like my own series or my own movie, but that’s another thing that will happen once I move away from YouTube a little bit,” he said. “I just want to keep making stuff that makes people laugh. That’s all I’ve ever wanted to do. So as long as I’m doing that, then I’ll be happy.”

So How Much Does Kurtis Conner Make?

All that work has paid off for Conner. Even if he never manages to secure that Netflix special he’s dreaming of, the 27-year-old has already made a career for himself on YouTube. Based on calculations done by Net Worth Spot, Conner earns an estimated $648,000 every year. This income is earned primarily through ad revenue, which pulls in between $3 and $7 per 1,000 views. And with Conner’s high view count — his page has seen a whopping 380,924,351 views so far — he is raking in the cash.

This doesn’t take into account Conner’s income from touring, however, or the income he earns through his online shop. His officialstore offers up apparel ranging from baseball caps to sweatshirts and tees, with a reasonable — but still lucrative — price tag. This, combined with his upcoming tour, should see his yearly total rise significantly — for 2021 at least.

Woman Ranting About A Beloved Disney Character Goes Viral

A beloved Winnie the Pooh character trended across social media today but for reasons no Disney employee could have seen coming. The video was originally posted to Tik Tok features a woman complaining about a flag on another woman’s porch featuring Tigger holding a pink daisy on a blue background.

The neighbor complained that the Tigger flag was “tacky” compared to the “real nice” American flag also hanging on the property. She also claimed the flag was more offensive than the imperfectly kept lawn and shrubbery on the property. “…we have rules,” she said, “I don’t want to have to go find out what they are, but I don’t like that.”

While many have simply been laughing at the video, others have used the opportunity to start a discussion on the predatory nature of homeowners associations as well as how they can be weaponized against people of color particularly in the name of enforcing rules.

As Oscar & Emmy winner Travon Free put it on Twitter, “Some white people continue to have a strange entitled obsession with rule enforcement and policing other free people, that can be directly traced to their relationship with the police and America’s historical legacy of white supremacy. It’s a Tigger flag.”

@tizzybizzy92 on Tik Tok, who goes by Ambrosia on the platform, posted an update video discussing how the woman drove by her house yelling about how she was sorry for the incident, but nothing else has seemed to come from the altercation at this time.

Contrapoints Releases Long-Awaited Video

After 6 months of anticipation, Natalie Wynn (aka Contrapoints) has finally brought out another video. Her 1.38 million subscribers have been waiting for her to come back. The fervour-filled wait inspired tweets like this from her loyal fans.

This video called ‘Envy’ is the sequel to the Youtube video ‘Justice’ from September of 2020. This video covered punishment, abolition and how that intersects with internet cultures. In the typical humorous ContraPoints style, she delivered all of this with a bunch of jokes while dressed in a catgirl outfit.

Her new video covers envy, resentment-based politics, and how that specifically interfaces with online cultures. This is something she discussed a little in a Guardian interview she had in June: “The whole internet is about jealousy,” she continued. “It creates such animosity between people because it’s all about people envying each other. It’s so unhealthy in every possible way. I’m working on a video about this – envy – which is an interesting topic because of social media, which is all about promoting envy and making people unhappy with what they are and what they have.” She said she’d been reading up on Buddhism in preparation.

In Envy she particularly hones in on thinkers like Friedrich Nietzche, Andrea Dworkin and Aristotle, drawing very heavily on her philosophy knowledge. The production values are clearly heightened with her range of dramatic scenes and outfits ranging from a Marie Antoinette dress to the returning catgirl outfit from the previous video. She also imitates different styles of Youtube creator like make-up artists and Mukbang creators. This video also alludes to the times where she has faced both critique and harassment before, like for her inclusion of the controversial Buck Angel in a video, but never explicitly draws those links.

Wynn has been a large presence in the Youtube space, particularly in the colloquially named Breadtube – a loose group of left-wing streamers which includes creators like Hbomberguy and Lindsay Ellis and her absence from the space over the past few months has certainly been felt.

It has yet to be seen how fans will react, but given the gargantuan effort that seems to have gone into this over 100-minute video, it seems like she’s going take some time off to ‘touch grass’ so fans may have another wait ahead of them.
