Per a new report, and in an effort to provide some fresh entertainment to those currently quarantined across the globe, Warner Bros.’ Birds of Prey (and the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn) and STXFilms’ The Gentlemen have both moved up their Digital HD release dates from April to next Tuesday, March 24th.
While Cathy Yan’s Birds of Prey was one of this year’s biggest box office disappointments as it grossed just over $199.1 million ($84.1M domestic; $115M foreign) on an estimated $100 million production budget, which was well short of its estimated $250M to $300 million break even number, Guy Ritchie’s The Gentlemen was one of this year’s most pleasant surprises, both critically and commercially. The film ultimately earned over $115 milion on an estimated $22 million production budget.
The news comes hot on the heels of Universal Pictures’ decision to make The Invisible Man, Emma and The Hunt available for rent this coming Friday as well as making Trolls: World Tour available for rent on April 10, which was its original theatrical release date.
Disney also made its billion-dollar blockbuster Frozen 2 available to stream on Disney+ last weekend, well ahead of its intended streaming launch date, and have also made Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker available to purchase on all Digital HD platforms.
With the coronavirus pandemic currently showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon, it should be an interesting few weeks/months for the film industry as top studios debate the pros/cons of possibly launching some of their upcoming films on streaming platforms rather than give them their theatrical launches to mitigate losses during this troubling time.
However, with that said, it remains increasingly unlikely that potential major blockbusters like Black Widow, A Quiet Place Part II, Mulan, Wonder Woman 1984, Top Gun: Maverick and others will be pushed to streaming, as it would likely result in unprecedented losses for the respective studios. Pushing them to later in 2020 and/or to 2021 will likely remain the most viable option.
Big news tonight: #BirdsOfPrey and Guy Ritchie’s #TheGentlemen move up their digital release dates to 3/24 from mid-April. More coming soon, too. Stay tuned… https://t.co/1BmLhRmNUF

With Supernatural having not yet filmed its series finale, it remains to be seen whether The CW will ultimately decide to shift around the rest of the already shot season to stretch out their April/May programming schedule until filming can resume, which may actually end up getting pushed back even further due to the ongoing coronavirus pandemic.
The network has already moved back episodes of The Flash and Legends of Tomorrow, presumably to fill their spring schedule and it seems likely there will be more shifts to come this as they work to keep new content coming while knowing they don’t have finales ready for a number of their most popular series.

Former Game of Thrones star Kristofer Hivju is the latest celebrity to test positive for coronavirus (COVID-19).
The actor took to Instagram to share the news, revealing that he is currently self-quarantining in Norway with his family.
“Sorry to say that I, today, have tested positive for COVID19, Corona virus,” Hivju wrote in his post. “My family and I are self-isolating at home for as long as it takes. We are in good health – I only have mild symptoms of a cold.
There are people at higher risk for who this virus might be a devastating diagnosis, so I urge all of you to be extremely careful; wash your hands, keep 1,5 meters distance from others, go in quarantine; just do everything you can to stop the virus from spreading. Together we can fight this virus and avert a crisis at our hospitals. Please take care of each other, keep your distance, and stay healthy!”
Hivju was recently cast in season 2 of Netflix’s The Witcher, which officially halted production earlier today.
Tom Hanks, Olga Kurylenko and Idris Elba have already shared their diagnosis, and more high-profile names are expected to come forward. Actors are constantly travelling and interacting with dozens of different people every day, making them more likely to come into contact with someone who has contracted the virus.

A few weeks back, Chyler Leigh shared an interesting photo of her, in character as Alex Danvers, wearing her very own Super suit and while she opted not to share any major details then, it looks like next week’s promo has confirmed that Alex will indeed be suiting up as National City’s new Girl of Steel, albeit with a slight twist.
According to the description, Alex will use the Obsidian lenses to take a day off and visit a virtual rendition of National City, except in this new reality, she’s Supergirl instead of Kara. Everything seems to be going well too until the lenses malfunction and trap her inside while also simultaneously warping her personality, which is not good news for anyone.

Kate Kane never planned to be Gotham’s new vigilante. Three years after Batman mysteriously disappeared, Gotham is a city in despair. Without the Caped Crusader, the Gotham City Police Department was overrun and outgunned by criminal gangs. Enter Jacob Kane and his military-grade Crows Private Security, which now protects the city with omnipresent firepower and militia. Years before, Jacob’s first wife and daughter were killed in the crossfire of Gotham crime. He sent his only surviving daughter, Kate Kane, away from Gotham for her safety. After a dishonorable discharge from military school and years of brutal survival training, Kate returns home when the Alice in Wonderland gang targets her father and his security firm, by kidnapping his best Crow officer Sophie Moore. Although remarried to wealthy socialite Catherine Hamilton-Kane, who bankrolls the Crows, Jacob is still struggling with the family he lost, while keeping Kate — the daughter he still has — at a distance. But Kate is a woman who’s done asking for permission. In order to help her family and her city, she’ll have to become the one thing her father loathes — a dark knight vigilante. With the help of her compassionate stepsister, Mary, and the crafty Luke Fox, the son of Wayne Enterprises’ tech guru Lucius Fox, Kate Kane continues the legacy of her missing cousin, Bruce Wayne, as Batwoman. Still holding a flame for her ex-girlfriend, Sophie, Kate uses everything in her power to combat the dark machinations of the psychotic Alice, who’s always somewhere slipping between sane and insane. Armed with a passion for social justice and a flair for speaking her mind, Kate soars through the shadowed streets of Gotham as Batwoman. But don’t call her a hero yet. In a city desperate for a savior, she must first overcome her own demons before embracing the call to be Gotham’s symbol of hope.

There’s a lot to look forward to in the Wonder Woman sequel, but seeing Gal Gadot’s Diana Prince take to the skies in her Kingdom Come-inspired Golden Eagle armour is bound to be a highlight!
Thanks to Iron Studios, we now have a much better look at that. Set to retail at $199.99, this is going to be a must-have for fans of the Amazon Warrior, and with two different heads (one with a helmet, and one without), we may now have a better idea of how the hero is going to look in action.
These images are well worth checking out, so hit the “Next” button to look through this gallery!

Before we get to that awesome Golden Eagle armour, it’s worth noting that the based used here appears to be from some sort of jungle setting.
Comic book fans will be well aware that some of Wonder Woman’s most memorable battles with Cheetah took place in those surroundings, so perhaps this should be taken as confirmation that the same will happen on the big screen?
Wonder Woman looks absolutely fierce here, and that helmet should definitely protect the hero when she comes to blows with the powerful Cheetah (played by Kristen Wiig).
The prevailing theory among fans is that Diana Prince will wind up being depowered or somehow weakened, hence why she needs to “suit up” to battle her newfound enemy.
It’s not hard to see why so much of the sequel’s marketing campaign is based around Wonder Woman’s Golden Eagle armour.
After all, it makes for an impressive visual, and the hero clearly has a lot of freedom to move around despite being glad in a formidable looking costume you have to believe was probably given to her by the Amazons.
Where Wonder Woman gets this from is hard to say, especially as we have to believe Diana Prince hasn’t returned to Themyscira since leaving her home during World War I.
It’s possible it was hidden elsewhere on Earth, of course, and the movie will definitely have to go some way in explaining why we haven’t seen it before now.
Taking a closer look at the this armour reveals some amazing new details, and it’s an intricate design which definitely leans heavily into that eagle imagery.
The version from the comic books looked great, but this translation to live-action has worked wonderfully.
What do you guys think of Wonder Woman’s Golden Eagle armour? As always, be sure to let us know our thoughts in the comments section below, and stay tuned for more on the movie!
